@Merlin Can you explain that angle a bit more?Interesting. I like PITT mainly as he controlled inflation, increased monetary supply and kept the Gold Standard. France lost its way in the late 1700's as it did not do these things properly. The whole John Law type episode or Robespierre or Lenin did ...

Merlin, Does that take into account the Tunisa decision? I know it costs NM but it gives the WE wiggle room. With a Hindenburg event would this cost NM? Did you look at what I outlined in my 1.01 suggestions? That would more or less balance all the Italian decisions to a 30%/15% WE/CP total alignme...

That depends on your settings. If you chose "No delay" under the appropriate commitment tab in the options menu, then you have to fight. Anything else will see you leave unless you have less than 25% MC.

Well, this is a thread about CP- Command Points, NM- Morale and VP- Victory Points. Basically, VP as on date is quite useless, unless you are a player who waits for RIGOR MORTIS. CP, is evaded using only corps instead of armies; the problem with the GHQ being able to help only a few generals is eva...

My 2 cents on the issues.. Railway Issue- Traffic setting at highest has removed the Advantages of Rails, also if you see the History of the Great War it is basically the CP making each and every offensive with only German Troops, where and how did they come and go so fast? Railways, whether it is ...

I have. And you're right, the highest level might well be sufficient if the network is overloaded. I'll play a couple more campaigns and see how that turns out. I still got the feeling that the rails are linked too well, especially in the east. The continuous railroads are still a problem in my boo...

I disagree. In relation to the gains, the penalty is not nearly sufficient, in my opinion. Have you turned it up? My experience has been that rail redeployment is vital to being able to conduct offensives past 1915. If you make it so a few armies overload the network, you transfer a massive advanta...

Use individual militia units. It works like this: 1) Have a militia unit slowly dig in on it's own. When you move a larger force into the region, combine it with the militia, and move the militia back into its own stack the next turn. The larger force will inherit the entrenchments. OR 2) Merge a mi...

Absolutely. If you want to confirm it with your own eyes, send in a transport when there are several other stacks (individual units or not) and check the transport's supplies the turn after it has spent one full turn in the box. It'll often drop from 90% something to less than 10% in a single turn w...

Hey guys, I've been playing quite a few PBEMs lately and I've noticed some stuff that I would like to share or put up for discussion in general. 1. Build one transport too. Give it to Tattnal and rotate it through port to the blockade box of your choice (there's no reason to put your brigs into more than one box) every other turn. Tattnal keeps it from getting killed and it will redistribute its supplies to the runners if left in the box for a ...

Why enter a city?

You may have a superior force within a few turn's march. but not outside the gates. In that case, hold inside and fight outside.

Combining garrisons?

It depends on CP. If you can do it and fit the forces in a single division, go ahead. Otherwise, don't bother.

Put them in charge of cavalry corps. That way they tend to get shuffled between armies with the intent of getting or preventing pursuit hits and are usually involved in most offensives.

It will help with having 200,000+ men in a single region, but requires optimization separate from EAW. Unless I'm mistaken, it's just a placeholder mechanic in CW2 at the moment.

High cohesion? I can't honestly remember, just don't lose them; they work great when breaking enemy lines.

You could always compare stats with a normal line infantry unit in the unit detail screen.

Well this is probably too late to be helpful in your PBEM, but yes, all Russian stacks on German soil should be locked, their commanders inactive, and their cohesion reduced by 66% during the resolution of the turn on which it is played. So you should be able to play the card and plan your attacks ...

I'd suggest keeping the heavies (CA and up) together in Wilhelmsaven and a few scout cruisers on watch outside the Atlantic blockade box as well as the Baltic box. That way you can keep an eye on British and Russian cohesion and raiding. Choose your moment wisely, however. Coming up at the wrong mom...

Traffic is primarily for EAW AFAIK, and I don't see why it should be used at all in this game, at least until it becomes a full-fledged option for EAW. Then we can work on porting it to CW2. Don't use traffic; if EAW experience carries, and at this early point I'm fairly certain it does, units will ...
