Congratulations to Cobra6193 in his victories over cmdrsam!

The final scores are:

Cobra (Confederate): 72
cmdrsam (Union): 11

Cobra (Union): 161
cmdrsam (Confederate): 29

It has been my pleasure to host such fine games between these worthy opponents!

I am assuming that the games that I am hosting, between cmdrsam & Cobra, are among the few remaining to be finished in Round I.

Just an update -- they are currently on Turn 5 in both of their games and should be finished by the end of the week at this rate.

My recently deceased uncle was at D-Day and on the bridge over Remagen when the Allies invaded Germany -- we should never forget the sacrifices that were made!

It can stink, yes -- but nothing bad is really going down, just something that is taking priority and making me busier.
We will be in touch soon!

Don't resign and you wouldn't have to feel guilty ;) :D Seriously, a lot can be learned from playing a game to completion. Heh -- I know my history, my friend...but something has come up (as I reply to this at work) that will take away my hobby-time for a minute. I really meant, in the spirit of th...

PascalB's seed very well may have been higher had I not resigned -- how can this be taken into account? I feel guilty of possibly sabotaging a worthy opponent's placement in Round 2 :(

Why thank you my friend -- one of our games might be close, but the other is going downhill due to a major oversight on my part. But you're right, anything can happen! Glad you're enjoying it as much as I am :)

Daxil -- should I then send a new "Turn 1" set of files to Cobra6193 and cmdrsam from scratch?

And, as a side-note -- I am thinking perhaps I should have studied the scenario more before playing it (this is my first time playing it, tutorial not counted)...but oh well, we live and learn!

Sorry to hear that DC -- I would be happy to host still, for whomever subs for Dixicrat vs cmdrsam.
As it does not appear that I will advance (though anything can happen in this game), I need to have some fulfillment LOL! ;)

Try reading the first post. If your still not convinced, do a search through my thread titles. And just to clarify. It's not anger..it's just frustration that after 1863 the games becomes very hard to play. Well, perhaps you should try to beat your opponent before 1863 ;) Just kidding of course, I ...

HAHA -- no disappointment at all, it's cool either way :) I will say something that I have thought about with this tournament though -- since one person per side is hosting, that person has an advantage over his opponent. What I mean is, by watching another game's turn processes, the host has the ad...

Upon further thought -- it would probably be most helpful for one of the games I play to be posted as an AAR. I am hopeful that my moves will receive multiple constructive criticisms, and that can only help my gameplay! Perhaps I am being too harsh on myself, but in my opinion it is always better to...

I am inclined to agree too -- but I won't get too worked up about it since it is pretty difficult to get multiple corps in this game, that are eligible to become one, to true "corps size"...especially for the CSA. As for your link -- I would be curious as to what that site classifies an "army" in th...

Why is this such a big deal? Is this ruining the game? I'm not saying you should always just listen to the developers and just eat whatever they say, but this conversation is not going anywhere. The game is great, we all agree. Countless improvements have been made to make it the way it is, and per...

Well, well...I must say, this is the first AAR I have read from start to present date, and it has taught me SO much about this game! I have not read Soundoff's version (yet) since I, in the past, have mainly played with the South...but since my current PBEM is as the Union I may do just that. Banks,...

Nicely done -- and probably a good example of why the CSA didn't try to take Fort Monroe historically. The North is very easily able to resupply the fort with its Navy. The South, on the other hand, had no such luxury...and probably would have been pounded to death once the fort was taken.
