Conditions for promoting?

What are the conditions to be able to promote a leader? When it says "Promotable - Yes" does that mean the leader could be promoted right away? If so, I can't seem to do this - what other conditions must be met before you can promote a leader? Thanks

If he is the corps leader you have to strip him of cops leadership status before redeploying him. i suppose this is intended so you don't lose a corps status form a stack by mistake by redeploying his leader to other area. And that it needs to be enabled (through the game-options)? I have it enabled so that in theory I'm meant to get one redeployment per turn and the AI three. You have plenty of RAM, that's for sure. I only have 1 Gb and some people play (badly i presume) with 512 MB... but maybe playing form a Mac need more RAM... Shouldn't do, in Bootcamp mode it should work just like any intel PC, I'm not running Windows using virtualisation technology or anything lik...

Have been trying play the Russo-Swedish scenario with this patch, its seems to crash (Blue Screen of Death...) more frequently than usual, but have been unable to tell whether this is a reaction to some consistent behaviour yet

I think I understand how replacements work, and am pleased you can see those available in the ledge, but is there anywhere that indicates what reinforcements (i.e. new units) you will receive and when? As I understand it these are not linked to replacements at all. For example in the Peninsular War ...

I'm still getting the same problem of almost 10000 troops per engineer unit after starting a new game. :( I replaced the original file in the 'models" directory with the (unzipped) attached one, is this correct? As I said, the bug still exists, any ideas? Was hoping to play the scenario this weeken...
