You would think that they could change the flag on regions they enter. So at least you could redeploy Brits between regions that they occupy. I realize that there were historical issues between the British and French commands in France.

But I think a lot of people miss who the "victors" of the American Civil War were. The victors were, for the most part, racist, powerful wealthy white men, and their interest in historical revisionism was to unite the country by trying to forget the issue of slavery completely and erase black peopl...

Redeploying the British

And here's another newbie question: I can't seem to redeploy the Brits in the Redeployment Phase. They are mostly in Belgium. Is this an issue? In my current game, it is the beginning of 1915 and we have managed to hold on to a good bit of Belgian territory including Antwerp and Bruxelles - the Germ...

Offensives

Another newbie question, probably stupid... I can't seem to start a major offensive in the trench warfare phase. What phase does this occur in? Where would I click or what commands would I give to open the planning window described in the manual? I got dinged in one game for not doing it. The game s...

Detachments from Serbian I Army

Playing as the Entente in the Grand Campaign game. I have been messing around with this game for a while but there are still many elements that confuse me. One thing: when I detach a corps from the Serbian I army, like for example to create a solid line of corps during the Redeployment phase, I can'...

I remember buying EU3 with great anticipation, loading up as the Russians (good early choice as they don't have too many options to confuse you), and waiting for Ivan the Terrible. No Ivan? Militia brigades can be formed by putting two militia regiments together. They still only need one CP, and have a power of 30 at full strength - 27 in another state. That's a reasonable chance of destroying a rail line especially if you are using swarm tactics. Also, they will take military control ...

I notice after a few more turns that the Caucasus units are heading for points far in the interior of Red territory - Perm, Archangel, Kazan. OK, there's the save file.

No doubt Phil is right - the minors are subfactions of Germany and since I am at peace with Germany they just march on through me and vice-versa. Something to deal with in the scenario construction.

Wierd outcomes in the DNO scenario

I decided to try a game of RUS now the new patch has come out. I'm playing the DNO scenario solo as the Reds against the AI. I accepted the German ultimatum to start the game, and crushed the Southern Whites. Now, I have turned on the Transcaucasus. Only problem is, our forces won't fight. The Trans...

I have played the Caesar v Pompey scenario a couple of times from each side, and my evaluation is: Caesar = 2, Pompey = 3. Pompey needs to raise those eastern armies and get good support from the eastern client kings and the Egyptians.

Yes, the politics are hellishly complex. However, RUS managed to make sense of a complex, multi-sided struggle. Makhno and the Anarchists can be allies or enemies of the Reds. The Germans can invade or not (maybe become Red themselves? I'm playing the DNO scenario right now and hoping to provoke a R...

43-27 Antony, Octavian,Sextus Pompeius, Brutus, Cassius Scenario?

I would think this war would be the centerpiece of the game. Any plans to make this scenario? I see three playable sides, Antony, Octavian, and the Senate, with the possibility of shifting alliances. The Egyptians, Parthians, and Germans might play roles as well. Should be exciting!

I was hoping to have at least a scenario on the Mexican Wars of the Reforma and the French invasion of the 1850s-1860s. The map is the really difficult part. The Exmap utility is confusing and difficult to master and the frustration has led to me set the project aside for long periods twice. But I h...

I haven't given up on the Latin American Wars of Independence project. If I could do a bigger map - all the Americas - it could have scenarios for everything from 1492 to 1850. The maps are truly challenging. I fiddle around with mine from time to time and spent weeks and weeks going back over stuff...

Unlocking Allies

Forgive me if this is a question that has already been answered (a quick glance through the earlier threads didn't tell me anything): In the 50BC scenario, playing Caesar, there are some Mauretanians at the start who are my allies, but they are locked in place for 200 turns or something. Later on, I...

Oh, oh well. I'll just carry on as I have been. It is actually going rather quickly right now.

I might get some regions out of their "normal" order since I create new regions after I get done with the main map. That doesn't appear to be an insuperable obstacle.

I'm going to use regions. I think that you can depict the operational environment more accurately and also that is what the AGEOD engine is used to dealing with. Have you played the AGEOD WWI game? I see what you are thinking. I don't want to make much terrain impassable, but to create choke points where any large army will have to pass. I will probably make much of the Amazon impassable, though, and the high Andes except at a few passes where it will be mountains with tracks, allowing passage...
