good idea # 5 ...a reduction to fog of war by cav; I hate waiting for the spys #3 is kinda funny tho n shows your modern age thinking; In todays world $=any raw materials, not so ACW time period. #4 Hmmm almost impossible to crush the confed morale in game-play; as this is true historically as the u...

Look at the coming features in BOA2. Special Orders: Distant unload: Order your naval unit to sail to a coastal region and unload troops in the same turn. I believe you will soon have your wish granted as these enhancements usually work their way into the existing game (just my guess though). COOL ...

Yeah George we all have some type of ideas to improve this good game..yours are good too. My #1 wish.....above all others, would definitly be some type of multiplayer through an independent server, similar to what I think is it gamespot (?) does. Hmmm I always thought Pocus could get them to take hi...

&amn hard really is hard now 0r my 1st grunt out hard on new patch

I use to champeign the cause that Athena was really easy to beat playing as the CSA; the trick being just pull Washington out from under her early, this I could do so easily before the newest patch even on hard level about 50% of the time.....now maybe 20% In my current game as the CSA on hard I am ...

If we had one week turns, I'd agree about the transports. Given the two week time scale, something a little quicker is needed, due to the built-in delay in unloading ships. River transport also reduces micromanagement, and makes strategic surprise via amphibious movements much more likely. Yeah the...

Wow, Pepe... I almost laughed when I read this... I don't know whether you are being serious or not! Did you see the preceeding post? ...or could implement a rule that you must have a leader in a stack to conduct offensive operations into regions that are controlled by the enemy (that would stop all these leaderless cav raids). That fits with history (Morgan, N.B Forrest, etc). I can't recall any significant raids that were not l...

yeah I quess I get a little too hung up on this naval thing too, sure didnt mean to try to hijack the thread, just as pointed out here, you see something that seems so common to other games and it drives you nuts. With me its definitly this transport thing...I mean comon, in PvP how many of you guys...

Again, all great suggestions, but it would entail a total rewrite of the river movement/transport code. If it were a new game in development, these would be worth considering, but it's not a new game in development, it is a finished product that just needs some tweaking to fix some flaws. Yeah real...

obviously a weak-point in an otherwise well thought out game....I doubt too many southeners would be really that eager to volunteer for obvious suicide missions......should be a possible morale or VP loss as Doc sugessted for Cav troops dying of starvation in foreign territory if possible.

Say just a thought.....hope it doesnt seem to lame. 1. When I first bought the game, and I saw the transports, I thought to cross a large river surely you MUST need a transport to do this....but as I played the game more I saw that land forces could just cross willy-nilly and even use an abstract fo...

I still think some type of interaction between the land units and naval is prefered and at some time in the future wish this can be possibly addressed? As I said, the lack of historical referances can be easily explained by the fact the southern navy was, 'sunk' early by a combined efforts of the un...

I can't see how thats a good strategy. Seems to me that the Union will always win any naval arms race. The more CSA blockade runners -- the more hits that can be dealt out. The Union has a tremendous naval advantage. I think a combination of strong artillery production and steadily increasing naval...

Based on the AAR I've read, the Union players seem to follow a similar but flawed strategy. In a PVP game, if I was playing the Union, the CSA wouldn't have the money or resources to burn on brigs. The only time I think it is dangerous for the Union is during the early months of the war where the C...

I'm not trying to score debating points. The main arguement here is that large organizations of troops, certainly any with arty and wagons, cannot cross large rivers without transport. Clearly, from history, small units, especially cavalry, crossed many rivers that are currently coded the same game...

I already asked it. Does Every river sector on the game map have a ford (in the real world)? Were those "real" fords always available no matter the season? If there was at least a ford on every river sector, then no problem, I would allow armies to cross a river no matter how many enemy gunboat wer...

Surely you jest, using Forrest, the best small unit commander on either side in this (or argueably any modern) war as an example! :niark: Forrest also used a Union trooper as a human shield, holding the unlucky trooper with one hand and the reigns in the other as he pulled out of a charge that help...
