Year of the Four Emperors - How to win over the Danubian Legions?

Make a decision?
Or go there (to which cities then?) with an army and claim the legions?
Or something else? What then?

How should I do this in practical terms? (Currently playing as Vitellius and enjoy this game greatly.)

Any excellent modern literature on the subject that you can recommend?

In particular, regarding 2nd or 3rd century AD.

Well, for better or worse, 'dry' is part of the charm of what we AGEOD fans enjoy about their games. So many studios put out games that are more style than substance. AGEOD does the opposite. Their games are as close to the old board games of old as one can get. So the high budget stuff like cut sc...

I would certainly not hope so. After all, Marc Antony is a Latin-American artist who used to be married to Jennifer Lopez, right? Not a Roman general married to Cleopatra, an Egyptian queen... I guess (or at least hope) that comparison settles it... :)

not about the laptop, NVIDIA is hard on that, dont know why. used mainly an old FX5600 and Radeon 9600 for testing... i just hope you will be that busy with the game, that you dont need to zoom out, have fun... True. Me too. Unfortunately "Texture Initialized" was already checked, and could find no...

I have been waiting for this!

Wow, finally one of AGEOD's games taking place in antiquity! Ever since Great Invasions, I have been waiting for this. And during ancient Rome, even better as my favourite period. Purchased it today (Praetor version) and had a look. It looks super! Just waiting until 19th of September so that I can ...

Then I could add too: Pescennius Niger misspelled (twice) when selecting which faction to play in 193-197 Scenario (to become my favourite :) !): 1. His faction's name. 2. His name as mentioned in Septimius Severus' victory conditions (when pointing mouse cursor over Severus to select him a played f...

Slow scroll when fully zoomed out

Just started the game to have a look. Looks splendid, one thing I noted though is that scrolling the map when fully zoomed out is VERY SLOW. Anything I can do myself to improve that (other than buying a new computer)? Any settings anywhere, etc.?

Wow: many thanks! But puh: the AI must have improved tremendously! I had some good momentum as the French in the FIW (pre-1.06) and expected war season of '59 to give me Albany. But, boy, was I wrong... The English advanced halfway to Mont Real, taking all forts along the lake. Plus gave Montcalm so...

I have had the same problem as you once: that supply level increased rapidly when placing the cursor above it, and started to increase once again when again placing the cursor there. Only happened during one turn in one game, though. Does anyone know why this happened, and how to fix it? Has it happ...

Another faulty game from CDON.se

Hello, (Finally managed to reset my password to this forum. Puh!) I have the same problem, i.e., bought the game at cd.se (who first sent me the wrong game, a civil war game from Paradox 2nd Manassas... ;o) ). Anyway, I forwarded the order confirmation I received from CDON to Ageod's support. And wi...

Hello again,

I can now see from the "Patch 1.07c online for AGEOD players" thread that there is a 1.07c official mod version. (Stupid me...)

Could I install this one on my 1.06 and be back at 1.07c? Or should I simply do it all again, i.e., uninstall, reinstall GI1.07c + mod1.07c?

Which version after Official Mod (and Jmass graphical mod)?

Hello, I upgraded to v1.07c and thereafter installed the Official Mod (1.06a on the great-invasions.fr web site). The game now shows 1.06. Do this mean that I'm now back to version 1.06, i.e., that all changes in 1.07c have been removed? Should I have done the installations in a different order? On ...

So I received an AGEOD version (along with serial key) as replacement for my NOBILIS version. Many thanks, Philippe! Many thanks for your answer. I received a message: "XXX has died in YYY." for two ERE generals, in different provinces. But it is not so much that the general died. What I was surprised at was that my whole army disappeared. But maybe that is due to a Strategem, as you said. Are there such Stratagem...

Army vanishes when general dies?

I had assembled a fairly large ERE army in order to teach the Huns a lesson. However, when the army's general died (out of a random event, I guess), the whole army disappeared and I was left with nothing! :grr:

Is this a bug or is it deliberate?

Better to annex them. One problem less. But then it is good to have a bulwark/cushion between your own territory and the Alans or Huns. :tournepas

Does the same apply to the Angles in the scenario starting 350 or 375? I have, as the Franks, conquered and annexed the Angles twice but each time they get their territory back and resurface as a nation. (I thought I could get rid of them so I could help WRE out against Alemanni.... But no!) Many th...
