I love games like this and the history behind them.

My main intrest has been WWII. Two great books I have is Ian Grey's Stalin and John Toland's Adolh Hitler. I have read each many times and evertime I start to read them, I always find myself starting a new game of HOI and playing whichever side corresponds with the book Im reading. PLaying EU and tr...

Thanks, another quick RR question.....

I understand you lose 3% RR capacity per turn. At the economy screen, one click on the locomotive icon gives me (10) locomotives. How do you figure out if that's enough to compensate for the 3% lose per turn?

Quick question about replacements and to save starting a new thread I'll ask here....

When a certain group, say line infantry, is showing a "red" zero, meaning no replacements, you click once and a envelope appears. More you click, more envelopes. What number of troops does this represent? Thanks.

I think we might well be singing from the same hymn sheet just that we are not quite in tune. I thought the thread was because GrudgeBringer wanted a walkthrough so to avoid messing up the first few turns. If I'm right then I stand by what I wrote. If though its more to do with how the organisation...

When creating a Engineer on the recruit panel, it says "ALL States" instead of one particular state like others. What exactly does that mean?

I did try to create one, but don't recall it showing up anywhere the next turn.

You have the right idea, now apply it at a different level. Say you have an army with 3 corps. The army stays back while the corps advance into three adjacent regions. Because of the marching to the sound of guns ability, your corps are mutually supporting with with the army and each other (except ...

Off the subject a little, but quick question... Im experimenting in the tutorial and I have a the Army of Ohio with a corps. In this corps I have (3) divisions. What I was trying to do was to keep the Corps 2* general back one region and have each division move forward into (3) different regions as ...

Moving by rail and river....

Im moving a unit and the first 3 regions it will move by rail, the last 3 by river. Do I click both the rail and river movement tabs at the "start" of the move, or click rail tab, move till out of RR, then also click river tab and move by river? Thanks.

Also, does the Texas Defense force ever move?

I also have XP.

One more note, this morning, I restarted first, then <start> click icon, but froze up again. I did a ctrl-alt-delt to end task, but window showed game as "running" and it soon after started working.

That is exactly what I mean. Once a new player gets past the "Oh, so that's how I create a division" point, then they start asking: "Why is my general penalized?" "What is this cost?" "How much is it of each resource?" "I created a whole bunch of divisions, how do I keep track of how many?" I have ...

now that I think I'm beginning to get a handle on organisation, movement, supply etc the last thing I want is a 'walkthrough' however brief of what or what not to do. E/R toggle

Im just wondering what the difference is between the "E" and the "R" in this command. I am also assuming, from using it, that this allows you to move through units that have NOT been given orders, correct? So if I move a unit out of a city, but want it to stay in it's region and just defend/entrench...

Is your game freezing at black load up screen?

I have tried alt-tab, but that does not work. It's almost a must for me to be able to read up while playing, even with the piles of stuff I've printed.

there *are* certain actions that you should take in the first few turns of the game. For example, capturing Ft. Sumtner and Norfolk should be priorities for the Confederates at the start of the game. After turn 1 I noticed that my troops bombed Fort Sumter. There was also a army near it so I ordere...

One quick question, can you build new RR in game?
