Retreat Problem

From the 1.07 Readme : 5- If you fight in a region where you have a structure, you will now retreat inside. Seems to me that this is not wise. The last place you would want to retreat to is a structure in the area where you just lost a battle. You are immediately besieged and as good as dead. Game o...

I'm not hosting this particular PBEM game. But it seems to me that it happens every time, in every game.

Sieges Still Broken (1.07)

It is still possible for the trapped units in a siege to just walk away. Order them to any adjacent area, and after a skirmish with the besieging army, they will withdraw to safety. This can't be right. Wasn't this supposed to be addressed in 1.07?????

Ambush

OK, Hobbes, I have a question (for anyone).

When you use irregulars to set an ambush, does their posture make any difference to the outcome? I mean, is there really any such thing as a "passive" ambush?

No. All you get currently is you total score and that of the other side. <F3> I believe.

What is sudden death victory? All strategic towns? Or all objective towns? Or both?

its in chip, only in units its in points. A depot costs 2 supply wagon, that have a nominal capacity of 80 food&water and 80 ammos each. So yes, you produce 50/20 points of food/ammo, at the cost of 160/160. And a depot is static. Above in the "living rules", you say a depot produces 10 supply chip...

When you mouse-over an area you see something like "Current Supply Level = 7". What is a "level"? Does Level = Chip? "Supply Point" ?

So, converting a wagon to a depot creates an inexhaustible source producing 10 "chips" per month?

Now if his army did not broke the siege, I would like the savegame, as an army in a structure should not retreat. The game in question is a PBEM game (against CristoFire-Ice). And he is "hosting", so is more likely to be able to provide complete save files. Recapping: he was under siege and tried t...

My army was in Aggressive posture as I wanted to assault before winter set in. Not sure if my opponent ordered a sortie that same turn.

What's the deal with sieges?

In a PBEM game, I had 2-3 British regiments bottled up at Hartford and under siege. After bring over the bulk of the Continental army, I ordered an assault. Since it is PBEM, all I have to go on were the messages. Which stated that the Brits had successfully withdrawn from battle! It wasn't a battle...

PBEM allows to play without having to synchronize all players, a very convenient thing when each people has his own agenda (and a real life!) Quite right! PBEM is the BEST way to play any game. That is the main reason I buy only turn-based games. For us "old timers", you know, adults--with a job, P...

Before you spend time on TCP/IP could you finish the PBEM system? Passwords would be a nice start.
