On the roster page for Generals somtimes a General or more than one General's name is listed in RED. This is sometimes (but NOT always) after a battle. I at first thought it meant they where perhaps wounded in battle, but it never says anything in the 'Move Details' listed at the bottom of the scre...

Off the subject a little, but quick question... Im experimenting in the tutorial and I have a the Army of Ohio with a corps. In this corps I have (3) divisions. What I was trying to do was to keep the Corps 2* general back one region and have each division move forward into (3) different regions as...

The "easiest" way is get a second monitor :-) Then you can have the game up on one and the manual, notepad, etc up on the other.

I get this also. It happens with units that I recruit. When I recruit there is some ready to move next turn and some "immobile" for a few turns. They always release after a couple turns. I was definitely not happy the first time I noticed it. I now look at it as part of the recruitment troubles of ...

Battle Log

After a cursory examination of the battle log, it appears that the last [art of the last battle that happened is not getting written to the log file until either the next turn is processed or I end the game. It looks like you are not flushing the file buffers at the end of writing the battle log.

I just tested the EarlyForcePool.inc change and it worked, though it necessitates actually regenerating the scenario (.scn) file itself to accomplish the actual change within the scenario. Cool, It seems I am starting to understand the intricate relationships of all of these files. I need to unders...

I did that. I found No reference to the group quantity.... ... of course, I've been known to miss a thing or two... :innocent: It is used for later scenarios as a base upon which to add to the pools. It does have a SetCombiUnits call for each faction. They are buried in the middle of the ChangeUnit...

Nope, its not the "default" I tested for this by changing the number to a 72 for the Union, than starting an 1861 July Campaign game. Played one turn, exited and then scanned the "saved game" file. It still had "0|0|48", so it kinda confims that changing that number did not have the desired effect....

Thanks man, That is awesome. I got a start last night on a treeview of the Organizational structure. I am using C# with DotNet 2.1. This definitely filed in the blanks for the structure. I forget sometimes how much fun I used to have coding (I do exclusively data warehousing and design the last 6 ye...

Thanks I will identify what I know and don't know about the format and see if anyone can help me. I am indeed interested in writing more of an analyzer so I can track history of what happens to individual units throughout a game. Organizational structure changes, etc. I am also examining the battle ...

I find it very easy to learn and understand with an intuitive interface (At least for an experienced wargamer -- more decades than I care to count :p leure: --) Ok, schmo...
