Re: Is this forum dead ?

Hopefully I won't disappoint too much then! :) Philippe Thibaut and I created AGEOD in 2004. With highs and lows ... We were bought back by Paradox in 2009 and in 2012 they made the decision to part away with several 'satellites studios', including French Ageod. Then we entered Slitherine in 2013 an...

Re: AGEOD on GOG?

If the decisions comes, that will be decided by Slitherine management. I don't think there is "de principle" opposition to distributing AGEOD games to GOG. It just that they might have a schedule and have many games they can potentially release, and you know that GOG is a bit more picky th...

Re: Known bugs list

To End All Wars had issues with his team. Both Altaris and Philippe Thibaut are no longer working on Ageod games as you may know. And as you know, small indeps companies are hit very hard when one person leave, that's not like everyone is a cog and can be replaced easily by one of his numerous colle...

Re: Battle system: FOG2 or AGEod?

This second aspect more or less takes inspiration from the AGE games, so you'll be at ease. As for the battle, thanks for the praise Ajarnlance! The aim was to provide a system that could be automated, while having some decent subtleties. There will be a dev diary on the battle system, but in a nuts...

I don't know about English cuisine. I used to mock you (common you) by speaking of mint jelly and boiled beef. And I thought you moved to edible food. And then the 19 years son of my ladyfriend went to a family for a month in the UK. The jelly was not mint flavored, but translucent white. The meat, ...

At 41 you are DEFINITIVELY NOT TOO OLD for video games, what is this nonsense!! What will you do when you retire?? No, video games are the future for all old people!

Don't forget to do some sport each week though. Your body is your capital, don't waste it.

The younger you are, the more 'fast paced' you like all activities.

The young like 'battle royales', with blitz matches of 5-15 mn (overwatch and such). The slightly older will prefer a RTS-action game, like company of heroes. And there is us, with turn based

That's all correct. I don't remember with certainty, but I believe the remaining unit had his template definition updated too.

If not, then it would mean that the single-element militias can be filled up overtime, if you have enough replacements, to 2 elements per militia... :sherlock:

They can have bad traits, but leaders for now don't develop new traits from their field experience.

Arminius was very good. Varus was not that bad.

Re: Field of Glory: Empires Dev Diary #5 Governments and Rulers

There are civil wars, based on regional loyalty (slaves and citizens revolts or uprising of a subdued nation) and a special mechanism for Rome based on size. We don't have loyalty for generals as of now (perhaps in the future?) so there is no betraying general seceding, but this is simulated with th...

Well if the usurper manages to take back all your regions (while others nations can also attack you) then yes, you would lose. But that's not different from losing from regular wars, except you can't make peace with an usurper.

That would need editing the models files, freezing their animation. But deciding if we should do that or add a few extra custom content to some nations, I know what I'll choose :eyebrow:

I guess someone can replace the 3D models you dislike with 3D counters, but shown 'flat'. It is all in 3D these days, even flat 2D games are using 3D engines. That's the way Microsoft did DirectX.

Altaris resurfaced a bit (haha, see the topic :bonk: ) for a while for the beta of Empires but had severe issues with a hand, and so had to stop helping. Re: AGEOD Engine 3.x vs 2x ?

PON is the sole game running in DirectX 9, with a work from an external developer. The PON map has its own thread (this you can see, regions are blurred then get a better definition once you stop scrolling) and there is no hiccup when you zoom. The rest is DirectX8 based (yes that's old). Several ex...
