Glad to help. I noted that Maria Teresa teleported to the woods of East Prussia/Poland when Wien fell.

Ai aar

Perhaps this is normal, but after a large battle in Brereford north of Wesel, Keith's army retreated - to Pay Bas. I promptly used them to conquer this area immediately, then moved to France, where France fell in short order after generating 2000 VP, and three Marshalls for me. There was no delay in...

It happens with Daun and Ferdinand if they are promotable or have improved efore their mandatory geographic relocation. The new Daun and Ferd have their basic stats, but the originals keep their new rank and stats. I just send one clone to deepest austria and play on.

Ferdinand

Goes to Hannover with the event and his clone stays in command as an Army Commander. Game did not crash even when they operated near each other. The Hannover Ferdinand did not bring with him the battle-augmented stats of the original Ferdinand - perhaps why they were treated as different leaders.

Nice summary

Although Athena is a good AI, however I found that unusual, but not suicidal tactics confound her (it? to an extent. As Prussia, sudden death victory seems to happen in autumn 1759. Leadership is key. I use Schwerin immediately as an Army to fight an economy of effort campaign in Silesia- fortress l...

Glad im not wholly wrong

I created a "Saves" folder manually in the right directory and the game is obligingly populating it with Saved games. I have transferred game folders in/out with success. Quite interesting that a created folder took the place of an invisible folder without an error.

Saved Game Folder Vanishes

when I patched to 1.02b my Save folder disappeared. I can still save and retrieve games, but the new folder is invisible in the file structure. The effect is that I cannot copy saved games to/from a laptop. I tried a fresh install and patch and had the same result - the folder disappears. Any ideas?

AI Moving Fort Guns

In 1812 scenario the AI can move around ( often large distances) the "Fort Guns". There is also a weird supply unit in Philadelphia that looks like a stack of crates, but has as playtesting/debug/beta name.

In the 1812-1815 scenario the de Rottenburg (sp?) leader portrait appears twice ( on initial turn of entry) , one leader with a "*" of experience, one without. The game crashes with the error, but can be restarted and played on with two de Rottenburgs, no crashing. However, I park the junior de Rott...

Error messages each scenario

Each new start generates a succession of error messages, many of which are 'sendable' to AGEOD, so I do. Nonetheless, after "texture eastern Gulf of mexico" error and many others, I have not been able to play any scenarios. I have patched and it sows up as such. as they say in Québec <<J'ai mon esti...

Casting aside the conspiracy theorists longstanding suggestion that Burgoyne was ordered the Masons not to nip the "great experiment" in the bud, it appears he made some bad choices on who to trust, routes and did not "get" the terrain. Either way, that makes him a "slow mover" I suppose.

Before you get carried away, the naval operations that impact BOA are essentially coastal and "troop transport". Any naval officer can 'read' the weather for days out, so there should be an option to 'risk it' or not, vice "too bad, so sad" (or for Pocus, "tant pis pour eux")

Agree. OT, but BTW had a look at Beauséjour today - you can see why it was located there - nice sight lines, higher than the surrounding land etc. Quite a sideshow (game-wise) really, but there is also "Fort Lawrence" in the area, and (weirdly) the radio was covering a story on the "paving over and ...

If you set the AI to Harder, it becomes that much more painful. (Of course at "normal" it really is just training for YOU. ) Whatever "bonus" goes to the AI in combat resolution means you really need superior odds and and superior leadership, so be careful. BTW pet peeve is "improving" the AI by loa...

War of 1812-14

A good reference and a very good read is Pierre Berton's " The Invasion of Canada" and "Flames across the Border", a two volume set. They are likely translated into french given that he was a very popular Canadian author. The books give particular insight into Leader attributes, the quality of indiv...
