Just bought this game and have played the tutorials and been watching let's play videos. Welcome to the forum. 1. I have noticed that navy forces don't pop up like land units do and it is frustrating trying to find them. So while I get basics down I was just going to let game take care of my navy. ...

The concentration is a big factor, as it makes it more likely that the target will get shaken elements early, which then makes it very likely they will break the next time they are hit, causing a cascade of morale checks and potential routs across the battlefield. Artillery loose in the stack will ...

I see a lot of people attempting to form artillery divisions in my PBEMs. After much trial and error my personal belief is that it is much more effective to have artillery loose in stacks for several reasons: There are only so many batteries of light and medium artillery available to be built when u...

Thanks! I still don't see why it was necessary to use magic chits and random chance rather than just getting one hit replaced for the cost of one hit. Supposedly, a certain percentage of hits lost to attrition and in combat return as replacement chits. So, lose X number of hits this way and get a c...

I have no idea what you expect. Exactly what I'm saying. To find out the probability that a chit is spent. because the probability is not varying per any other factors, unless there is something else at work of which we know nothing. What we know about it is from Gray_Lensman, from the very quote y...

We cannot estimate probabilities from your previous experiment, as already stated. We have got some good info on the average number of hits though. Good assessment Gray Fox.

Set it up the test as you think best. I'll do the analysis and present the conclusions.

If no one is interested in the chance of the chit being spent that's fine with me.

Actually, I don't see what the difference would be. With just one chit being used per turn, or 10 chits a couple hundred times, you still wind up with the same statistic. The only difference is in how long it takes to accumulate the information. Yeah sure it could work. Can you set up 10 (or 20) in...

I'll see what I can do with the data at hand.

Average per chit USA 34.53

Thank you Captain_Orso. Some numerical analysis: How many hits does an infantry replacement chit give out on average? It appears that each chit can give out ~40 hits in an infantry element, as noted earlier. To be sure, is there any chance you could do that experiment ten more times? (This is so the...

1. A whole unit and the X number of replacement chits I could buy for the same price have the same number of hits too, because that would be the single real world situation that a game should simulate. You cannot have half a replacement chit. Or a quarter of a replacement chit. Or ANY fraction of a...

Believe what you will. Rafiki was a wealth of knowledge about the engine. Your quote is quite misleading as it was Gshock who was confused in the first place! I suppose we'd need Pocus to weigh in to know 100%. I am just going by my understanding of the mechanics through 8 years of experience with t...

I'm not reading that an X% chance exists for a chit to be used up every time a hit is removed. Sometimes I have this problem in ACW2.

Make sure you have a clean boot of your computer. Load up the game. Exit. Load it up again. It always run 100x more smoothly. I'm guessing the necessary files have been loaded up in the RAm so it runs better.

This is from an old thread I started for aacw. I'm trying to find one from Pocus or PhilThib but this one is from Rafiki. Rereading the thread it is how I understood replacement chits to work and the explanation seems to agree with observations I've made in ACW2. Long story short. If replacing an en...

It is a little weird.

Set it to 0%, the automated replacements feature is useless as a player.
