Thoughts on a diplomatic model for a Grand Campaign

If you want a fairly simplistic diplomatic model for a grand campaign why not crib some of Avalon Hills ideas from the Napoleonic Wars game. Coalition Majors England (if defeated game ends) Spain (can only be defeated if all its major cities are occupied by the French). Russia Austria Prussia All ot...

I'd say it looks like you're doing well. As for the strategy, its one I use myself. Inflation is not necessarily a bad thing. If you can use the added money to to build stuff early, you get longer to enjoy their use. I've found inflation to be quite manageable up to a certain point. About 100% is w...

Just off the top of my head why have computer generated climate at all, especially in the small scenarios. Even if the climate was pre-programmed to be historical in a campaign game it wouldnt bother me at all. You could even pre-program 20 years of historical climate and randomly select each year i...

I have no problem with the manual as such its the fact that this is obviously a very complex game that needs a hold suite of tutorials to explain things to those who struggle with manuals.

For what its worth my first reaction was how polished and impressive the ACW map is compared to the one in FoF. Also the fact FoF has no proper tutorial and a 200+ page manual was sufficient to put me off before I had even got started.

My option in the April 1861 campaign was to upgrade the Confederate command structure early on by purchasing division HQ's to allow army corps to form. This is a costly exercise and I made the mistake of not going for war bonds or tax changes to cover the cost. Also I think it is wise to keep one ey...

The answer to that is no. This is due to the fact the computer is making the decisions for the Confederacy from April. Therefore any units in the July OAB which came into existence due to goverment policies such as calling for volunteers, raising taxs and issuing war bond will not be present unless ...

If the 'E' 'R' 'T' 'Y' keys stop having any effect you have cycled through all the units which can move which have not already been assigned orders. Its possible you may have locked all units via CTRL-L simply press CTRL-L again and eligible units will unlock.
