There's been a civil war in Britain? :8o: ;) Hard to believe isn't it, we are such a peaceful island :innocent: THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR! the game would run much like american civil war only in england. having instead the USA and CSA it would be the Royalists and the parlimentarians (Roundheads) the d...

I'll second that. I have had it for a few months now and it is well designed and solid in it's game play.

I found the best way to resolve this was to disable my Norton Anti Virus - game then worked like a dream Fortunately I don't use Norton Anti Virus. I came to the conclusion that I'd get the full game first and then see how it goes before deciding on the graphics card. Just waiting for the boxed edi...

:niark: Good luck with it! If you find yourself overwhelmed by the number of units at your disposal as the USA, try a CSA campaign. That's what happened to me when i began to play AACW. Being the underdog have some advantages... at last you have fewer untis to move! Its harder to win but easier to ...

Thanks for that, problem solved :) Just about convinced the wife that I need the new card as well. I wonder if I should tell her or not? :siffle:

How many RAM have you ? I have 2Gb of DDR2 which I got recently when I got AACW. The Radeon X300SE card though is a few years old and has been on my list to replace for a while. I'm looking at the 512Mb version of the Radeon X1550, which seems a resonable one. The problem happened when I zoomed all...

As I stated on another thread this morning, the April 61' campaign played as the Union would probably be your best starting/learning campaign. Playing as the Union gives you some room for error, where as the CSA side you have to make every move count. I started the April '61 campaign last night, as...

The most obvious difference is the lack of a grand campaign in NCP but I find the fact that there are so many different scenarios available that there is a much better variety of gameplay (and the Spanish Campaign is over 200 turns long so if you want a looooooong game there's one there). There are...

Why limit ourselves to those islands...we want all :king: :siffle: Just like in 1797 and the invasion of Fishguard :D Look how that one ended The local heroine of the invasion was Jemima Nicholas, who with her pitchfork single-handedly rounded up 12 invaders It is thought the French troops may have...

You know how much French love the Brits :sourcil: They even conspire to move you folks away from the righteous place they live :niark:

Next you will be wanting the channel Islands back or something :niark:

Oh, maybe I'm too late, then. But I've thought that, after the "starter" and add-on scenarios, the next step upward is the 1864 scenario, playing as the Confederates. It's because you have fewer forces, and smaller land area, to deal with. So it's a middling step upward on the way to the 1861 scena...

Tiny map problem

Hi,

I grew up near Gloucester in the UK and it is actually on the other side of the River Severn (the England side rather than the Wales side). I don't know if this has been fixed in other patches, as I just have the demo version at present.

NC vs AACW

Hi ,

Just got the demo of NC and it looks great

Can someone tell me what bits play out simpler than AACW and which bits are more involved and complicated? I know it sounds an odd question and that overall it is a great improvement on AACW :)

thanks
