Question about battle resolution with Field of Glory 2

K am wondering if you could resolve battles using the Field of Glery 2 game in the following situation... You have Field of Glory 2 installed on Steam, and, You have Empires installed, but not on Steam. In other words, would you have to have both games installed on Steam, or both of them installed o...

Re: a request for accessibility

Hi Tamas, Ageod manuals that allow this option are Wars of Napoleon, and Wars of Succession. Slitherine manuals that do not include this option include Field of Glory 2, and Strategic Command, World War 2, War in Europe. I am overjoyed to hear that Windows magnifier works in this game, and about the...

a request for accessibility

This game seems utterly fascinating, almost like a Europa Universalis set in the Ancient world, with tactical battles as an option. However, I do make a request on behalf of those of us who face visual challenges. All previous Ageod games allowed Windows magnifier to operate without a problem. Some ...

Re: is there anybody outthere....

Hi gents, I understand the feeling, but the truth is that we are working full time on the new engine and the new theme associated with it! I believe we will start announcing real meaty things very soon on it, but marketing wants us to have a lot of materials so we can sustain the heavy fire of ques...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

This is odd. It is November,1703, and I have looked inside of Warsaw in the Great Northern War scenario. A Saxon Polish army of no less than thirty six units is inside the city, easily the biggest and strongest AI army in the game. Many of the units are cavalry, not exactly ideal for defending a cit...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

Thank you for the historical background, it is fascinating, and I learned from it. I do think event chains, as you have suggested, would be the best way to handle this. Though, as you wrote, it would be hard to recreate the whole mess. It would still be a lot of fun to have the Confederation form at...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

I see your point, and I pretty much agree with you. I do not want the AI to only build historically, for the very reasons you mentioned. But Poland did not have a modern standing army during this war, and most of the Poles saw it as a war of their Saxon King,, and wanted no part of it. The one army ...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

I have been testing the latest patch over the last several weeks. I cannot stop playing the Great Northern war, and my gaming time is limited, so I have not played the War of the Spanish Succession. However, while playing the Swedes, I have reloaded the game as the anti Swedish coalition, and paid p...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

Since we are now on a similar page Vaalen, do you think the war should be extended past 1716 in this new scenario/grand campaign? If it was, I would feel like I still could have some time to make a resurgence as Sweden after Karl XII has been in the Ottoman lands for several years. I really like th...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

Another possibility would be to have Karl removed from the game for five years by event if he does not capture and hold Moscow or Kiev by the winter of 1709. This would certainly motivate the Swedish player to invade Russain. Perhaps the Ai could be scripted to have Karl try for these cites no late...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

Karl XII is beating you if you believe he is too overpowered and want to lock him away five years. He is getting in your head like he did to the Danes, the Russians at Narva, and the Saxons. Actually, I have only played the Swedes so far, and have never lost to Karl. I do not think he is overpowered...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

It's also interesting to note that Karl actually didn't lose at Poltava either. Due to his leg injury the overall command was held by Rehnskiöld. In any case I think that locking him for 5 years just because of one battle or for failing to capture a certain city would be far too harsh. While I have...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

After Poltava, Karl abandoned his still large and powerful army , and decided to go to Turkey to bring the Turks into the war. His army surrendered, without a fight, to a much smaller and weaker Russian force. The plan almost worked. The Turks admired Karl as a great soldier, and hated the Russians....

Re: Second Post Release Patch

My experience is that the patches have really improved the game, at least tee Great Northern War, in the game I am playing. The fixes listed seem to have taken place. The armies involved are now quite different from each other, the one battle I have fought so far had more losses, though it was still...

Re: Peter rules

I am happy to see this event is in the game. Russai was, and is, vast, and the people had an almost religious belief in the Tsar and the holiness of Mother Russia. The Poles took Moscow in the early sixteen hundreds, but could not control the nation, as most Russians would not surrender, but simply ...

Re: How to lose GNW in 3 turns ( as Sweden)

In two turn after Charles lands you can knock Denmark out of the war, which negates the Danish fleet. As Sweden it’s all about speed, and the game has been set up this way to assist in that process as it happened historically. As for the Danish fleet defeating the Anglo-Dutch AND the Swedish fleet?...

Re: quality of units concern

I think it is crucial to show these differences in the game, but there is an alternative to changing all the values. IN wars of Napoleon, there was an excellent modifier system which made the forces of each major nation unique, with a number of simple modifiers that recreated the tactical differenc...

Re: quality of units concern

There were very dignificant differences between the tactics used by some of the major nations. For example, the Swedes relied mainly on melee combat, and their fierce charges helped win many victories. The Russians relied mainly on firepower. French combat formations were denser and more vulnerable ...

Re: Polih-Lithuanian Army size!! OMG it is huge`

Good ideas in this thread but I wouldn't give a trait which would give attrition to Karl. Instead I would give him the old corrupt trait but with a new flavor text. Good point indeed. Now we have to see if this particular trait can be made area-restricted...if not we would make it general and Karl ...

This just could be the most beautiful AGEOD game ever, and that is saying something. Two major wars, done with care and great attention to detail. I have not found a single bug. The two wars are utterly different to play, just as they should be. And speaking of great generals, Marlborough, Karl XII,...

I agree with Marek regarding the size of the Polish army in the game. And I have some ideas. In preparation of this game, I bought and read a number of sources, including Robert Frosts hugely expensive but very informative work, The Northern Wars, two biographies of Karl XII, written from the Swedis...
