Any way to slow down the battles?

You know with the pop up that goes back and forth between the two sides? On my computer it comes and goes so fast that I have no idea what happened and I have to go back and scroll through my messages just to see what the outcome was. Any way to slow this down a little so I can actually see what is ...

That would be fantastic!

6) Insurgents. The .pdf manual often refers to them as 'Rebels', while often in game they are referred to as 'Insurgents', such as in the loyalty report of Insurgent vs. Tory. From a purely aesthetic perspective, it would be best to be consistent throughout the game with respect to what you call th...

Question about the manual

I don't know if this happens to anybody else but when I am viewing the manual using my pdf viewer and I click on one of the topics on the table of contents on the side, it only takes me to that part of the table of contents of the manual! It's more than a little annoying to have to click twice on th...

I think basically the problem is that BoA is not for the demographic that Gamespot caters to. In fact I noticed several comments that stated that very fact. For example: Birth of America's challenging artificial intelligence and historical authenticity will please grizzled wargamers, but it doesn't ...

Well I changed the resolution and that helped...maybe. But on the farthest zoom setting it's still jerky as heck. If I can't scroll amount a map with complete smoothness then I just cant play it. One option would be to make it so that I can't zoom out to that level at all-if I don't know that it's n...

By the way, why exactly can the game not use jpegs instead of bmp's? Is there something special about them? I converted one to jpeg and it looked practically exactly the same. I would be happy to suffer a slight loss in visuals for the huge performance boost that would be gotten from using a file th...

Hmm ok that didn't work unfortunately. I just assumed that since jpegs and bmps look alike then they would be compatible. :)

Here's a question. I converted one of the regions to JPEG and I can really see no discernable difference. I assume that I converted all the regions to jpeg I would see an exceptional performance boost. Is there something that I'm missing here? Some catch?

No help here? Am I the only one who encounters serious choppiness when I zoom out? Is there no way to....oh wait. I installed that updated map thingie. Was it a lot more resource intensive than the original map? Should I uninstall and reinstall with the original map?

Well since I finally made an account to complain about my performance problems, I guess I can post here lol.
I would really appreciate an option to only have a popup display if I hold the cursor over a territory for about one second or so. If I'm scrolling around the map I really don't need a pop up.

Serious performance problems

Hi there, this is my first post but I've been lurking for at least a couple weeks now. Unfortunately my first post has to be a (slight) complaint, regarding my laptop's performance with the game. In order to get a good grasp of exactly what the situation is, I like to zoom out to see more of the map...
