I agree, but is there any reason to have two small cavalry divisions as opposed to one big one? Seems not.

Maximizing Combat Power-Any downside to Big Divisions?

I seems to me that the best way to organize your Army is to load up the best division commanders with the maximum number of elements and use as few divisions as possible. Is there any reason not to use this strategy? Is there any advantage to a corps having more smaller weaker divisions than a few u...

This seems like great news (as I have both NCP and ROP). Kind of curious why bug also isn't in AACW. Isn't the engine the same?

I have done a lot of testing on supply in besieged cities (ulm in austerlitz scenario). Tests were performed with the log reporter on, so I could see both amount on hand and amount used each turn. The results are strange. For the first three turns ULM recieved no additional supplies and the amount w...

Based on a series of tests it definitely seems that supply is getting through to besieged cities, regardless of whether a port is present or not. Seems like a bug.

Actually, upon more testing it seems to me that there is no consistent pattern with stores in besieged cities, whether or not they have a port. Despite being "besieged" stocks can go up or down. Basically, it seems impossble to starve someone out.

Is it possible to starve out Prague?

As the Prussians, I besieged a very Large Austrian Army in Prague. After several weeks of no breaches and no apparent weakening of the Army I decided to see what was happening by opening the saved game files as the Austrian and going backwards in time. What I found was that the General supply in Pra...

installed qwkfix and played more spanish campaign. On first turn Cordoba still held out, but on second turn it was eliminated. (Unit was immortal for at least 5 turns before patch. I am assuming that it required two turns because of some initialization changes.

Have played more. In recent game french have held out for nine battles over 3 turns in cordoba with a single cannon and a leader. Battle is always lost, but unit is immortal. Definitely immortal bug. Happy to send saves if you want. Is this the same bug that was fixed in the newer games? Any chance ...

Supply bug?

I wanted to understand the supply system better, so I played the Austrians in the 1805 scenario. After they became unlocked I decided to put the entire army in ULM in the fort and simply let the AI do its thing. During the first few turns I noted that the stocks at ULM went down 134 points per turn....

Problems with losing lopsided battes

After a couple of year hiatus, I started playing around with NC again. One problem I noticed concerned strange results with regards to multiple battles in the same area. A typical example would play out as such: Large synchronized force invades structure containing region (like ULM for example), and...

Thanks for the response. However, this should be indicated on the victory conditions page as it clearly is implied that sudden death is active.

Massina locked on Venice-1.03

Was playing as the French in 1805 Scenario. Movend Massina to attack Venice.
He is now locked there and can't move away. Also, Saint Cyr cannot move into Venice to help complete the Siege.

I e-mailed you the save.

I just wanted to bump this to make sure that Pocus and Phillipe read this. After more playing I can confirm that on the battle screen it always reads 0 for the percent forces inside the city even when they are all in the city. Interestingly for the AI the percentage seems ok, i.e. when I attack it s...

Henry, Thanks for the tip. I can now get the troops into Ulm. However, the next problem concerns the defense from inside the fort. Locked forces question

In the Austerlitz scenario Mack's forces are locked to the Ulm region. However, they also do not seem to be able to enter the fort at Ulm. In addition, when they are attacked on the first turn, they are still locked on the second turn. Is this behavior correct? It seems like you should be able to ha...

In Austerlitz scenario you cannot scroll the map up to the Russian Army. However if you select by using the ledger you can get there. Probably related to trafalger scroll bug in previous thread.

3) I'm not sure intelligence is working correctly. If the enemy has multiple stacks in the same area where you have good intelligence you only get detailed info on the "top" stack (Army stack). For the corps you just get the name followed by the number of units. You should be able to cycle through e...

Penalties for changing generals

It seems to me that there are almost no penalties associated with dismissing and replacing generals. On the Austrian and Prussian side of the 1805 and 1806 scenarios there are absolutely no penalties, and on the french side it seems only dismissing Napoleon gives a penalty. Is this as intended?
