Re: New patch ?

Requisition Offices still get razed occasionally after a battle... and the Trade Port in Bristol gets destroyed every time I try to take Bristol from the Roundheads. How can I mod this? If that is possible? To avoid structures to be razed, you need to go to ; ECW/GameData/Structures. Open the struc...

Re: Should I have control of these objectives?

One thing I noticed (however I'm not 100 percent sure of this) that if as a Royalist player one gives Sir Marmaduke Langdale an independent command... he starts pillaging the countryside and lowers the loyalty for the King.

As far as I know from the English Civil War (not much) this is historical.

Are promotions enabled?

Hi to everybody. I have returned to AGEOD games after a 7 year hiatus (jumped from Rise of Prussia to Thirty Years War) and I think my last post is from 2010. The question: Are promotions enabled at all in ECW since I have not been able to promote those leaders that have additional models in databas...

Tried the demo

and loved it! I'm seriously thinking of buying it.

But the game needs a hotseat mode since it is a natural mp mode for these kind of games.

Also a question...how much the player will be able to reshuffle his corps during the winter break?

I'd like to husband my forces...

Looks great...as a Finn...it's salivating good. Also the names of the places are mostly correct...I see that the swedish names have been dropped (for the most part) from that part of Finland which is the usual mistake. Kymijoki lost an "i". Pieksämäki became "Pieksimaki". Närpiö became "Närpes" (whi...

Would it be possible for Finnish players to check the Finnish language in the upcoming game?

Meaning city, town, province, area and unit names.

I already spotted the river "Vuoksi" is written as "Vuoski".

It's been a long time since I last played BOA but here we go... 1. to get maximum ambush effect you should have one or two regiments both sneaky types meaning you shouldn't use regulars but irregulars (Indian warbands and Coureur battalions) instead (just in case you weren't sure). 2. and with a lea...

Yup, the Russian Army command is deactivated when that event happens.

It's the same thing with the French Army command when D'Estree is sacked and is replaced by Richelieu.

Thanks, Bertram. I have been looking into the event files and started trying to understand the game code since BOA. I didn't know about script files in the map folder. This has been interesting to read.

Also it does suggest that "winter quarters" -house rule could be wise. It saves a lot of manpower.

Treaty of Kloster-Seven and von Belling Freikorps

Couple of questions about these 2 events: 1. Treaty of Kloster Zeven (sp?) What are the requirements for this event to happen? I'm guessing that the Prussians can get rid of Duke of Cumberland if this event fires. I've lost a battle against the French in Hanover but I'm guess 1 loss isn't enough. 2....

About replacements:

Bavaria and Wurttemberg receive Heavy Cavalry (famHvyCavalry) replacements which are useless since they are not able to build any heavy cav.

All nations could use supply train replacements (famSupply).

I need to read more about the European theatre of 7yw. There are some hints in the game. For Sweden (with their Finnish regiments -yahoo!) it was about capturing the whole of Pomerania and thus securing their holdings in the continent. For the Brits...well, I guess it was about protecting their Nort...

Spanish leader Contamina appears as part of the North officer pool in 1809. He appears as a brigadier but the tooltip shows 2 stars again...

Which rank is correct for Contamina?

so this is before loading a saved game. This is very strange, if you have already installed from fresh and patched. Please send me the ACW\settings\general.opt file at pmalacher@age-studio.com , I'll return it to you with error logging on and more. Hi Pocus! Email sent to the address provided.

Maybe you can make an event that remove Moore? Well, that would have to be something logical and to make some sense. Atleast, a simple event to remove him would be ahistorical. I'm thinking about lowering/dropping Moore's protection value to zero so he could get killed but I doubt that would work w...
