Hmm, ok thanks again. I will give it another try when I get a new computer then. I see that PON got a big patch and that thing was hard to play as well so I never really played it. So maybe I will try that and get back to WON later. Take care.

It will run more slowly. TYW and AJE have few units and no diplomacy calculations, and typically involve two factions. Playing as Russia you do not have too many units, but AI is running six majors and many minors, but also planning and executing many diplomatic decisions. Thanks Durk, but is a 3-m...

Slow turn calculation

Hi there, I am trying WON but game turns seem to be much slower than TYW or AJE, at the beginning of the game (playing Russia) it seems to take 3 mins per turn. So in na hour I spend more time waiting than playing. Is that normal or there is something I can do? Thanks

How to redeem AJE key in Matrix/Slitherine?

Hello, I wonder if anyone here can help me...I bought AJE a while ago (preorder), got a new PC last week and want to download to play it in the new machine. The site says that I now need to go to Matrixgames or Slitherine, create an account, activate the code and download from there. I created a mat...

Hi This error - zero size files, and your .trn file being "in use by other process" are apparently due to either the antivirus/antimalware software (all the game files and folders should be exempt from any real-time or other scanning) and/or the windows UAC (that should be turned off, in my opinion...

AJE has been developed by Bohemond and El Nino (real names are Stéphane and Stéphane :) ). We the Philippe leased the engine mostly. It took me a few months to realise (yes, I AM that distracted) that there were two Philippe back in Pax Romana days (or was it ACW? Too old to remember). Now it will ...

I am very glad to see Ageod going back to where its strength lies...very detailed (not to mention pretty) campaigns/scenarios as opposed to grand/long-term strategy. They would need another engine for that, I believe. I want to see more games like RoP, WIA, ACW, NCs, etc.. in the market and only Age...

No, I gave it a try after I bought a new PC but the turns are still taking too long to process, and even moving the screen around is annoying. Scenarios run fine though.

And I really wanted to try 20 or 30- years of gameplay...too bad I am not in prision nor broke my leg ( :

I am having trouble updating my Steam version, even though I followed the instructions posted here and in the Paradox Forum.

The patch has been out for almost 3 months if I got it right. Why is it not in Steam?

Fair enough, I know the game is a long time away. We will sit tight :)

Diplomacy

I would like to know more about diplomacy. The other AGE games like BoA, ACW, NC and RoP have very limited diplomacy (because alliances, etc.. are already part of the scenario setup) so I am interested in knowing how you guys plan doing it with PoN.

Thanks, Marcelo

The classic quote from Porfirio Diaz

And, of course, another classic but this time from Mexico:

"Poor Mexico....so far from God and so close to the United States"
Porfirio Diaz (1830-1915)

Although one could say that he was surrounded by far worse, and far closer, company in the Presidential Palace.

Pax Romana

I believe the game was called Pax Romana . Yeap, that was the name. Great, great idea which did not quite work well. It reminded me of an old boardgame, Republic of Rome. It seems Paradox borrowed more than a few elements and put it into EU - Rome, but that one did not work well either. Maybe it's ...

Very good entertainment so far. Won the Austerlitz Campaign as the French, and will now try the Peninsular War as the Spanish/Brits. Guess it won´t be easy. I did notice some important campaigns missing, i.e. Italy and Egypt in the 1790s, and Austria (1800) although I guess these could be added via ...
