Thanks for the answers, they're very helpful. Regarding this line: For a fort is 25% control and 10% development - but remember you do have a limited pool of these. If this is true, I'm not sure why I wasn't able to build my fort in Tanganiyka, since my MC was 76%. Could it be that it's because Oman...

Colonies, forts and military control

Since I got some very useful responses to my last questions here, I thought I'd ask some more. It seems to me that these must have been asked before, but I tried the search function and didn't find anything. Anyway, I'm in 1954 as Prussia, and since I'm sitting on a huge pile of money, and don't rea...

Thanks for the answers! I have an abundance of state funds, since I gave up on getting the biggest army in Europe (military expansion was hurting my foreign relations), so I have no problems with lowering taxes. I think I'll lower the maritime tax to 0, since that's negligible anyway. The other taxe...

Supply and demand, prices, taxes

I've finally re-installed this game to give it another try, and I'm currently playing a GC as Prussia. I'm currently at the end of 1952, and for the past year and a half or so, I've had problems exporting my products. Specifically, coal, manufactured goods, steel, chemicals and dyes are not being re...

Thanks for the effort, Calvinus. I tried playing in activation mode instead, and it seems much more stable. I've only had a single crash so far, and that was when I tried to quit. To be honest, I think I prefer activation mode anyway. It seems much easier to figure out what's going on, where the bat...

Lots of crashes in Windows 7

So I decided to play this a bit more, but I'm seeing a lot of crashes. Most of them seem to be random, but now I'm getting one that happens at the same place again and again, after finishing a specific battle. I'm running windows 7 (64), and I've tried changing and disabling all sort of settings, ru...

Thank you Lodilefty, and everyone else involved in improving this game. It's very much appreciated. In my humble opinion, this is the best and most interesting AGE game, and I'm happy to see that it's still receiving support. Just to be clear, it will now be some time before we can expect a new (bet...

I really find some assumptions really vague. One of those are ww2 sell a lot. really ? I'm not sure about potential and only 45 buyers(?) about 30 years wars :D . But that can be the strenght of the engine why not. Remember Shogun was the first game of The Creative Assembly. That's pretty much what...

Combining units

Does anyone know why some generals can only make brigades with 1 unit? I'm specifically thinking of Katte and Normann, at the beginning of the grand campaign. I'm trying to make a brigade of cuirassiers, but if I try adding more than one unit of cuirassiers, the button greys out. Other leaders are a...

I'd just like to echo the original poster, and say that this game is awesome. It had some horrible birth pangs, but Calvinus has really whipped it into shape. I know he's worked very hard to do so, and I appreciate the effort. Thanks!

1) 30 Years' War. Honestly, the world needs a 30 Years' War game. I'm glad to see that it's leading in the poll. I remember a few people on these boards opining that it's too obscure, but let's face it, Ageod games in general are kind of obscure, so why not make a 30YW game. 2) China. I'd love to se...

Biggest problem is, that there are not too many "hardcore" strategy gamers around. The new generation of gamers (around 14 to 25) play more action oriented games. Maybe this will change again in the future, but currently we are still heading for more casual and action. Second problem, in my opinion...

I would be at the top of the list of fans of a Thirty Years' War game; it is my absolute favourite historical conflict and I really wonder why there haven't been a single wargame about it so far, especially given its relatively unique tactics and strategic situation. It is quite obscure as far as g...

I didn't know that RUS had a harsh reception. I guess I just didn't notice, or something. Shame, really, since it's ea...

There is probably a cavalry force in an adjacent region. If your force contains not much cavalry then the patrol/evade values of your stack and the unseen enemy one can cause your force to become blocked. Especially if you are trying to move into a region that you do not control. (At least I think ...

I'm not too happy about the Clausewitz NCP announcement, but I'll reserve judgement, and give Ageod the benefit of the doubt. After all, with the information available, it's hard to say anything concrete about the game, except that it'll be real-time. I'm very excited to hear about the new AGE game,...

Blocked by enemy positions

For the past couple of turn, in my current game as Prussia, I've been unable to move two columns out of Halle. I keep getting the message that they've been blocked by enemy positions in countryside, even though I control Halle completely, and there are no enemy forces in the region (or surrounding r...

Supply can not flow when mountain passes blocked by snow. Especially the case in Silesia. It is possible for whole army to starve with 1-2 regions near supply source. AFAIK with clear terrain and good weather it can travel 4-5 regions max. But generally in rough terrain it will move only 3 regions....

I think it would really be helpful if the Supply section of the manual were re-written. It is only a few pages and in its present form is unclear and/or incorrect on several issues. Just a thought. What use are the rebels who spawn near Moscow? I've just used them to cut railway lines and occupy undefended towns. That's probably the best use you can get from them. The AI just throws them away against Moscow. I can't really offer much advise for the whites, since I haven't actually played them...
