My battles never last more than a day! Even if the battle involves over 100k men and tens of thousands of losses. I guess my men are just too efficient at the art of killing . . .

Tag,

I beg to differ. At my summer firm, some of the associates had to play a few XBOX games because of some infringement allegations.

I'm just uhhh doing preemptive research with American Civil War. You know . . . in case something ever came up.

I am defensive to start with while I use cavarly and light divisions to probe the enemy, smash up all the RR Lines in the area and knock out whatever depots I can. Then, when the weather is fair, I launch full, all-out jackhammer attacks. Pounding and pounding away. It usually works.

Wow, wierd battle. It seems half of the enemy army was supply, 1/4 was artillery, and only a few infantry battalions. Perhaps that had something to do with the Union's dismal performance?

Nice casualty ratio regardless

Make sure you have the latest patch. I started playing without patching and my turn times were about 10 minutes. Now, with the patch, my turn time is only 2-3 minutes. A huge difference . . .

I'd love to get into some PBEM games, but I just don't have the time available on enough days. Some days I have plenty of time, others none at all. This would probably make for a frustrating PBEM game.

Three corps. There were still a fair number of troops, but it was still significantly less than usual.

Odd Victory--But Hey, Its Still a Win!

Okay, so I just won my first full campaign as the South. My settings were normal difficulty, full AI behavior, normal aggressiveness, and everything else pretty much set to normal, and the setting that slightly improves the AI but increases turn time. It is early June '64. I'd had General Lee, along...

Thanks everyone. I had started the campaign without patching it, then later I patched it. So, I still have division HQs. Now, I know how to handle. Thanks so much!

Snoopy, I'm not sure if I understand you right. I can't get a division to appear anymore in the "support" tab of reinforcements. I can still build another army, but there aren't any more divisions available. Plus, it doesn't matter how many resources I have--$50+ and hundreds of war supplies and com...

Okay, evidently I'm an idiot. Now, I can promote. I just wasn't raising their seniority enough. Thanks for the help. As for the divisions problem, I still can't get more than twelve though. I even leave 50+ grand at the end of my turn plus over 200 war supplies, and hundreds of companies, yet I can'...

Rafiki, You are not nitpicking--I appreciate the help! None of them are seniority of one or two. However, many of them have had the seniority bumped many times because of battles. By '63 I would assume that at least some of my generals from '61 would be promotable. Btw, it does say "Yes" as to wheth...

Yah, I forgot to mention about 15 are eligible. When you examine their details it says "Promotable: Yes." But, the button to promote them it always greyed out. It doesn't matter if I pull out out completely from a stack, or leave them in one, or any other combination. The button always remains greye...

Can't Promote Generals

Okay, so I have a wierd problem. I started a general campaign in '61. In the first few months, I could promote generals. Now, in '63 I can't promote anyone. It has been that way for several months. It doesn't what their senority is or how much it has improved. I simply can't promote any of my one or...

Buying Through AGEOD

Hi, I'd like to buy your game. And, from what I understand you receive more if I buy it straight through you. However, when I go to buy, the price appears to be in British pounds. If so, at 40 pounds, isn't that like 70 US dollars? If that is true, no offense, but that is a bit steep. Through matrix...
