Yes, that would be great. Sadly, I have not played as much NC as I wanted -- still addicted to EU3 -- but a tooltip detailing how things were calculated would help a lot.

First impressions of the game: Wow. Nice work combining a simple interface and a complex game.

Chandler work is absolutely marvellous    You get all the Napy campaigns in detail (from the siege of Toulon to Waterloo), full of maps, with explanations of his operational strategies and tactics. Sadly, you cannot seem to get his book in the UK. Amazon.co.uk lists it as only sec...

Once I get the game, I'll see if I can get it run at work under Linux. I'll write a small how to here if it works... It probably won't. Downloaded the game today -- was taken hostage by revolutionary syndicates in Paris during the weekend. I tried to install it on Linux. The game installed fine but...

You'll give me a priority in the download queues? :)

Good question.

Anyway, I am in Paris for the weekend the game comes out. Never mind.

History is written by ...

Could you give any references to books that you would recommend to learn about the Napoleonic period? Military, economic and geopolitic books welcome. As a side note, any good books on the French Revolution? I have Georges Lefebvre's history (at least the first volume) which is good and recommended....

Do share your experiences though! I'm a WINE rookie (though not a rookie at whining ;) ), and in my limited attempts, I haven't gotten very far, so I'd be very interested if people are able to get any further, and if so, how they got there. Update wine to the latest release version then: $ wine /pa...

Okay, I'll give that a try.

Will it be usable with the download version of the game? -- yeah, I know, I am close to whining about wine here. ;>

Linux or wine?

Has anyone tried to run Napoleon on Linux under wine? I am assuming that it will not run at all but if it does, I'll be able to play at lunchtimes at work.

I won't whine for a linux version as that would be hard.

Be reassured, the game can be installed on your various personal computers. As long you don't lend the cd to a friend, we are ok with that.

Cool.

I'll show them the game, let them download the demo and point them to the download.

Depending of the publisher, a download version can get us more than 3 times as a retail one. So thanks for your special support (but we welcome any players!). That is what I thought. Download it is then. I assume that you can install the game on more than one computer you own or do you have just on...

I'm happy to get the download only version if more money goes to AGEOD. However, a cheat sheet would be nice so you can have something printed that you can look at while playing the game. Of course, a good tutorial would help as well.

I was kinda hoping for a flag of the Empire or something -- kinda a collector's edition pointless thing that is awesome to own. By which method does AGEOD get th...
