Anyone else showing the Civilization level as "Wild" in all land regions, both in 1.17 and 1.17 QF1?

I don't *think* it is impacting game play, and is just a graphics/labeling thing, but will try and mess around with that.

[AACW] Seeking PBEM CSA Opponent

Looking for a CSA opponent for the full April '61 campaign (with or without Kentucky) Open to various settings or house rules. I am very unfamiliar with the USA side, but want to get some experience. Fairly experienced with overall game dynamics and have done many PBEM. Can do ~1 turn per day, altho...

Auto Promotion of Generals

Anyone know if the auto promotions that are scripted also remove an experience star from the general, just as promoting him manually would do?

Thanks

Stauffenberg, I always thought that was the most interesting setting (re: activation), but got frustrated you could not even retreat. I am no historian, and I understand that generals in history often chose not to attack/invade, but was it also the case that commanders "froze up" at some point after...

[AACW] Looking for PBEM Opponent

In the middle of one PBEM at the moment, so seems like a decent time to start up another.

Anyone interested? AACW. I'll play either side and fairly open to any settings/house rules people want.

Generally can get ~1 turn in per day. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Post or PM.

AACW PBEM Opponent Needed

Looking for an AACW opponent for the full campaign either with or without KY. Happy to play either side. Historical Attrition. Probably ~1 turn per day. Open to other house rules. I'm not overly experienced and rusty, but can probably handle myself sensibly. Just let me know in this thread or via PM...

Looking for AACW PBEM Game

Been seemingly ages since I've played (and wasn't ever really good to begin with) but have some free time in the next week or so and would love to start a game. I'm USA eastern time zone. Prefer someone on similar time schedule. Open to pretty much any settings and don't care about the side. Early o...

So what are the advantages of gaining full MC around an army then, if they can still retreat?

To set the most likely course of retreat, if you have varying levels?
Or take more rounds to retreat?

I'm trying to work in how much benefit he'd still show as a defensive guy in a clear region with his 3-star frontage bonus vs. the 2-star. That's the only upside I possibly see for the moment. Oddly enough, he has yet to improve on any basic stats but I've got him these two promotions w only 5xp.

Promoting Generals Who Decrease in Value

Is it wise to promote a general, such as Longstreet, to his 3rd star--when he will lose a lot of his appealing stats? At least according to what I've read here, he'll go from a base 5/3/6 with Entrencher, to a 3/2/6 (no Entrencher trait) If that's accurate under the latest version of beta/quickfix, ...

1861: April - Full 2 Theater Campaign Advanced a turn to early June and now it shows: CSA 51, USA 34 (points accumulated each turn from Cities) CSA lost Grafton on that sequence. Does the graphic line under Victory Points: "Points accumulated each turn from Cities" somehow represent more than just t...

Backed it up for a look: Previous turn showed 49 (CSA)to 34 (USA) in Early May CSA then took Grafton, WV and we end up at the 30 (CSA) to 35 (USA) in Late May. No other region/city changes that turn. Just makes no sense (ie how does CSA lose 19 points for taking Grafton and USA gain 1 point for losi...

Thanks Gray. So what influences points from cities? And what would cause such a stark drop from high 40s to 30 in only a few turns w/o essentially any battles? Is it something to do with Grafton? Didnt realize that figure could change so dramatically w/o swapping possession of places. (Thought it wa...

VPs and Cities

Just happened to start a PBEM (Full Campaign) this weekend and we're only at late May 61....noticed that the South's accumulated points per turn from cities was 30 (CSA) to 35 (Union) on the objectives tab. Using the latest patch (1.16 Beta Patch 9) Seemed really off to me, since we've not had any b...

Sure. Got a game underway now as the CSA, so I can mix it up and get one going as the USA.

I can play ~5-7 turns a week on average. Live in the United States, east coast.

Happy to host or not.

I posted the two files in the original thread, not the one here. And they didn't have any password associated with them.

Did you rename it?

No idea, so go ahead and post whatever password you think works.

This is the original turn result and the preceding turn w/orders. I know last week or two my zip program wasn't working for you Gray, so trying a different one. And for what it's worth, I tried backing up to the previous turn to see if the units with those orders to go to Island 10 would do the same...

Pretty sure we've got the files in the right place when we execute the turns. It appears to be a very minor matter (not as if all his units are doing different things)

Let me see if I can post the history on this one.

PBEM Issues: AACW

Using version 1.15 each. My opponent has been giving certain orders that seem to not be working when issued. He originally thought it was an error/memory problem on his part, but it apparently has happened a few times. In this case, he had a group of units with orders to leave St. Louis and go to Is...
