3) In the Seven Years War, it was still usual to replenish regiments with foreign mercenaries. Therefore, the possibility to build Saxon depot units in Eger, Hungry or Bavaria (which is also possible) - strange as it may seem - can be explained with historic realities. It's possible for infantery f...

Did some more testing... The Natives took Fort Chiswell and got 10 points for the Settlers surrendering but that is all. So, no extra VP for taking this town. I had some settlers attack Mingo as a test. They lost 1 of their 2 elements and the Natives got nothing for this. Then the unit got eliminat...

I've played once as Prussia. And I never had too many shortages of replacement as I used every depot unit I could built (but for elite or cavalry). Those units are gold for Frederick and should be built as fast as they appears to keep the bulk of prussian armies alive.

I don't think it should be possible. To have saxon replacement you'd have to control Saxony I think. So, until the austrians recapture Dresden, they should be no reason to have any replacement for saxon units.
But the bavarian cavalry could be delete for sure as they're useless :D

From what I've read about Roman battles they did more than protect the camp with their artillery, they used it in battle as a standard so I'm not that impressed by your claim of having degrees in this subject matter. Again give me name of those battles or the title of the books you've read as I've ...

tyrex, Yeah it is a pity that the first to flee were the first to survive and that meant the cowards survived while the heroes died. You really need to expand your imagination as to how the AGE engine can be used to model ancient battles. Don't forget that in all of the AGEOD games there are so man...

I am playing as Austria at the moment and have just had the "Surrender of Montreal" event and my NM has dropped. There should be something to tell me that this event has meant a loss of 10NM to the Austrians. That's a hell of a loss for something not really important at that time. Even France wasn'...

tyrex, While it would take some reworking of combat to model ancient battles I think it could be done within the existing AGE engine. Archers might have a range of 1 so we see some precontact firing and don't forget that the Romans and others had plenty of "artillery" pieces like the ballista that ...

Well, with some thinking and tweaking of model values, something rather significantly close to a realistic antic battle could be achieved... for instance, from the top of my mind: * either if you set all fire values to 0 and combat starts at close range only * or you consider the "fire" phases to b...

I'd like to see a game on the Roman era, definitely a lot of interesting campaigns that could be done in one game that ought to garner player interest. Same with Alexander the Great. :) I'm not sure the AGE engine could handle the Roman era. At least not without serious reworking on the battle modu...

The problem with NCP is, from a french point of view, is that it doesn't really represent what you have been that formidable period. In fact apart the Spain campaign not really pleasing to french (not really good memory, too small a theatre to really maneuver and too few Napoleon presence), the camp...

Indeed, I believe people don't perceive how much costly in time it is to 'just' make OOB, setups, find historical data. People believe it is a given, and for some, it is to the point that when they saw ROP, they said: "ok, it happens in Prussia, but what's new?". For having done researches for anot...
