Frontage rules is the limit. These are dependant on terrain and structures (towns and forts). Runyan stated no more than 4 arty pieces are useful in a DIV but the essence of frontage rules is still a mystery. Considering not all troops fight simultaneously and not all corps and armies arrive at the ...
The war is long...promote the guys you need and don't promote the guys you don't need...regardless of consequences the NM hit can be recovered with consistent victory on the battlefield...which, leads to others' promotions.
You may count yourself lucky, Pocus...i might have been the interviewer and you wouldn't have escaped with less than 40 questions, including one on your favorite slips color!
That depends on the situation. Armies can't start a fight but will fight of course if attacked, so the power of DIVs can be used both in corps (supporting their army or not) or in the Army (as extra punch when the army intervenes in support of its corps). The situation also depends on the corps-army...
AI logic pursues retreats quite effectively. The best way you have to destroy or capture enemy forces is by: Inflicting heavy casualties in decisive battles (capture prisoners in mass rout). Control territory so that a retreat is impossible (manouver for Military control). Defeat, pursue and lock un...
Does the engine make allowances for concentrated attacks on heavy fortifications - ie. in the case here massing batteries to try to punch through fortifications, concentrating on small areas - or does it simply 'line up' units against each other and fight them as it would an open field battle, simp...
I was unable to find the word "Blockade Box" in the manual, again...both at reading the printed pdf and with the pdf search...at this point i think i must have dreamt it... I did find something new though. 5.1 -> hitting CTRL key should display manpower of a unit like in AACW but this doesn't seem t...
Thats all I can think of now, these are all unforgiveable mistakes that experienced players will punish severely. Yours is a very good analisys, the music is changing however: http://www.ageod-forum.com/showpost.php?p=92396&postcount=1 :) This is the final result of these "works in progress" for ou...
Simple: USA has poor leaders = poor combat and less activation (which means offensive operations can't be performed) CSA is entrenched and has higher NM and better leaders = stronger in combat, and attacking headlong is a risky proposition. U'll be happy if u can fulfill the requirements coming from...
Indeed, but i do see it ironic that when something is brought onto youtube nobody complains about the increased visibility (i.e. the movie Glory is entirely on Youtube) but when you put that stuff into something else all sharks (lawyers) will smell blood.
There's ultimately no limit to the number of tunes we may grab from youtube...the only problem with implementing them in the game is the sound quality. AGEOD has brought in the usual superquality as per usual quality standards i got used to since AACW. Now THAT is the only problem, really otherwise ...
One tune was missing but looking for it, i found many more missing...Ah i wish so much to find the complete versions of these beautiful tunes. Most of you will recognize at once the "modernized" versions which were brought on to the civil war. ;) http://www.theamericanrevolution.org/songs.asp http:/...
I've always wondered not in this but in all games why the results must be so dependant on the element of probability whereas all the moves, the strategies, the "man factor" are not depending on probabilities but on choices. I think there's no game that has so far, in the history of videogaming, esta...
I haven't arrived here just yet, am still tackling the annus mirabilis scenario for i start with the shortest and then play them all one by one according to their lenght to finally land to the big campaign. This engine is so elastic everything is possible and the game mostly relies on the input of t...
That's a good suggestion and this might be the reason why that region is considered an objective while just only having a port...regardless of such an event, which i am sure lodilefty will consider.
I didn't wanna intervene myself because the thread is on svf mod not on eu3 vs ageod moddability but it's hard after reading Clovis' Gospel to disagree.
I can't help you with that because i haven't got BOA (and so i can't load the save), i happened to find out that CSA indians couldn't conquer towns, only indian villages.
In 1812 scenario the AI can move around ( often large distances) the "Fort Guns". There is also a weird supply unit in Philadelphia that looks like a stack of crates, but has as playtesting/debug/beta name. Do you have a gamesave to submit to the team? It also helps to document these issues with a ...
Final post on the subject (and sorry for the repeated posts but they are to ensure that peeps hitting the "new posts" button see there's an update in this thread): I completed the scan of the pdf manual and there seem to be no further discrepancies. I am positive i read in the manual about "blockade...
Just Fyi: New commands are being developed to teach the AI how to think properly and a major command has just been developed. It is now possible to teach the AI the exact path to take to reach an objective as well as teach it when to be bold and when to be safe (the first of these two commands tell ...
U see Cwnut...a major power in the engine is behind the curtains, with its team. U find a bug yourself, you ask for a feature, you ask for an explanation and the man in charge steps up and answers, gathers information, identifies solution and patches the game. It can't be a coincidence AGEOD receive...
Ehm...it was just out of altruism, SVF is my AACW. :) As of the loss in NM implied, i agree the two sides had different views on different generals. I think perhaps more than the rank the seniority should be considered...seniority is achieved in combat, so only a winning general would win seniority ...
Best option to have the 1.0 installed in AACW2 folder and the current release in AACW. When a patch is released, uninstall AACW then delete the contents of its folder. Copy content of AACW2 into AACW, apply the current patch. Of course, make sure to keep the saved games and put them back in the AACW...
