[quote="Pocus"]Well there is 2 differing aspects that is starting to bear on me with the HOI serie (and believe me, I played quite much all Paradox games): a) the game is a monstruosity, and not enough time has been put in the AI. This means that in solo I'm always disappointed halfway in ...

I like it the way it is but I play at 1600 x 1200. I could certainly understand it being an issue if you had to play at a lower resolution.

This is one of the reason why we must be prudent with only an handful of reports. For some players, the AI will concentrate too much, for some others, it has spread too much the troops. So as you see it's difficult to us to decide if something must be done on that. My sense (again taking FOW into a...

OK, maybe I'm confused, but if you can't talk about a new game on the GameSpot forum, WTH is their forum for???

Its not like someone was trying to sell cars or cell phones.

I just don't get it!

Sounds like a good game. How can you avoid the British UBER stacks? They make the game a bit less fun. I tend to hide west of the Hudson with the bulk of my army in Washington's control. I keep about 4 regiments in New York and Albany and when the Brits try to take them, I counterattack with Washin...

1776 American Strategy

I've been playing a lot as US in 1776 full campaign and wanted to throw a few strategy observations out to see if any of them stick: 1) Holding Philladelphia is absolutely critical to US. This makes a great spot to retreat to in the winter and strike out from in the fighting months. I've never lost ...

The Gamespot forum is probably not the best audience for this game. Its more of a "cutting edge FPS game sort of site" for quick twitch action gamers than a thinking man's strategy site. Battlefront or Matrix I should think are a much better fit. But I understand why you would want exposure on GameS...

I love to hear that as a programmer. When trivial changes require little work, it tells me the design is sound.

Sorting Saved games...

Is there any way to sort saved games by date instead of name? I almost always want to load my last save but since they are sorted by name, its not always easy to spot my last save.

In my first game as the Americans it seemed like the AI did try to hunt me down and I ended up stepping into a trap in New York and had to sneak away badly beaten. But in my second game, I've been much more carefull about hiding my main army in American controlled territory and it does seem to fool ...

I can't imagine anyone who has actually played this game giving it less than an 8 at the very, very least. Personally, I give it a 10. I could see how it could lose a point or two for the small manual. However, as a programmer myself, I know the last thing on earth I ever want to work on is document...

There's more than one way to skin a Brit, ah... cat. I keep 2-3 large armies, garrisons of 2 regiments each, and single unit scouts. The trick is to make each large army a little bit better than what they will be up against in their area of operation. If there is an area that you cannot have an arm...

I've only played as the Americans in the 76 Campaign so things might be different with the Brittish. What worked for me with the Continental Army was to keep the bulk of my army together in one 'Death Star' stack but break off 2 - 3 smaller forces to use as scouts led by leaders with a high readines...

The sound track issue is easily resolved by popping in a Last of the Mohicans CD. :indien: Not much point in trying to top that. Agreed! Also, we need a way to add Magua as an indian leader with an Ambush Rating of + 50%. And everytime he attacks he says, "Magua kill Grey Hair for our French Father...

Beautiful Map

I know its been stated before but the map is stunning. In fact, I made a shrunk down version my desktop at work.

But everytime I look at it, I can't help but wonder what a map like this of Europe would look like. Say, in the time of Napoleon, for example. :D

Just a thought...

This is a really neat system you guys have devised. It allows you to have different units performing different tasks but all in the same region. To take it a step further, it seems you could create a third army and put it in passive mode. Then any units badly damaged in combat could be transferred t...

there is a tricky decision here. For now we have decided yes. The problem would be that you want to give the option to the besieger to entranch too, and this would not be possible on offensive. the separate map update is due any time soon. What about the following situation: I have two seperate arm...
