How about having a siege art in the corps for when not manouvering, then it would be easy (easier than if in a division) to detach from the stack.

That would work, wouldnt it?

Siege artillery?? Mmm... i don't think its a good idea to carry that around as a rule of thumb unless you plan to do some important siege. They move very slow and will slow down your whole stack :bonk: Maybe you should hava an independent stack (siege train) with some siege arty in it and just carr...

I think it should give the bonus to the whole group no matter if its inside a division or not. Probably the tip means that you don't need one marine per division. Just one per stack is enough  Thanks, thats just what I've been trying to do. Doing the same with siege artillery, one per sta...

IPontoneer: Provides a 50% speed bonus to the whole stack when crossing rivers. The units with this ability (i.e. Marines) should be put in corps, instead of divisions. [/url] One thing, does putting marines inside one of the corps(es?) divisions not give the pontoneer bonus to the whole stack (cor...

Clarification of leader traits?

Some traits and a bit of the wording from the tooltip from them and my interpretation of what they mean. "stack under his command" - ex. good army administrator Works for all divisions in a stack if the leader is at the far left of the "stackwindow" (most senior or highest ranking). "where the force...

In, definately. The division benefits from his offensive and defensive ratings, 5% per point, IIRC. Ouch, and here I have been reasoning that the general outside was in "overall" command or something and it would be better if he was the best of them. Guess I have some reorganizing to do, thanks :)

Better to have the best general in a division or outside (but still in the stack)?

Ok, I usually have (at least) 2 generals in each stack. One of them I make into a division and the other is there to get the command points up.

What I wonder then is, is it best to have the better general in the division or outside? Or is there no difference?

Sharpshooter bonus to "parent unit"?

I'm confused about the "parent unit" thingie.

Would I have to have a sharpshooter unit in every division (even those that are stacked together) to get the bonus?

Artillery whats the difference (except more bang for the buck)?

Whats the point in building light artillery if you have the resources for the 20 lbsomethings. And what is a Rodman artillery (from the strenght it is better than the 20's)? Should I have Siege artillery only if I am in a hurry to get breaches in a siege? Also, Horse artillery, light artillery that ...

Victory points not visible, not locomotives ordered built either.

I've tried the demo and have now downloaded the game from Gamersgate, seems to be version 1.05. Two things I've noticed that is different from the demo: 1) In the upper left corner there used to be numbers, one for Victory points and maybe one other. If I mouse over the "leftest" of them the tooltip...

However, I did check out your "abilities list" link in your sig and found some info that might help out with what the Balloon (+1 command points) and Signal (+2 command points) units do for a stack. Still dont know what the difference between (for example) the Regular units are (besides strength). :)

Reinforcements, details on the different units can be found where?

I've tried the demo and saw lots and lots of different units available for "building", what I could use though is some information somewhere as to in what way the units differ from each other (other than the strenght value). Like for example the unit Texas Rangers under the Irregulars part. I cant v...
