Tie, win or lose

Yes if the war ends in the same way as it did historically the result between the players should be a tie. I doubt Jeff Davis would have considered his final results a tie, nor would the Japanese in WWII. Players looking for an "even" game should play chess or checkers. Wargames typically are (to o...

OK, Sherman is at least active from the get go, but can't have him join Grant's army either. Just seems odd to have an Army Command at the start without an Army assigned to go with it.... Or am I missing something ?

Shiloh Scenario Question

SHould I be surprised by the following or is it that I haven't a clue what I'm doing .... 1) Buell starts inactive 2) Grant (Army of Tenn) starts active but has NO ONE assigned to it other than a signal unit 3) At the very start, can't assign anyone to Grant's Army. Bunch of units are in the same ge...

Question of Command

Is there any downside to having a corp/unit join an Army vs staying indpendent ? Not asking about competing commands where one commander is better than another. Wondering about independent status vs part of an army ? Also, does it matter how close/in a unit is compared to the command radius ? Is a u...

When the army is selected, mouse-over the army emblem, and you'll get a tooltip listing the corps under it, as well as their current locations. Also, when the army is selected, the corps will blink red, just like the parent army will blink red when the corps is selected. PS: You've only had 4 dumb ...

Dumb Question #4

Ok, I'm getting a bit more familar with the gaming system. They provide a graphical representation as to the command radius per commander. Is there anything that provides a graphical (or otherwise) representation as to what units are under a given command to determine if the boys are within that rad...

If you are the USA and the host then you send your opponent the CSA .trn file. I do not know why you are getting a .txt added to the end of the file when unzipping. Maybe you can just right click on the file and rename it by simply deleting the .txt so it ends in .ord. Why would you want to create ...

pbem hell ....

I'm guessing I can't read or follow directions .... I send "a" *.trn file to my opponent (if I'm the USA, do I send the CSA or the USA *.trn) ? I'm the host .... Then can I create a separate folder later on and dump the returned ord file(s) into it ? My opponent sent his ord as part of a zip file, c...

The manual has a fairly good description of the process; have you checked it out? in fairness, no. I've lost alot of faith in manuals being helpful. Though I did go there after this message. It did get me to the point of sending the trn file, but still left me lacking as to whether to proceed or wa...

Just to be clear, I'm not an AGEOD developer, this would be an unofficial third party utility. pakfront, Understood. I'm not after official or unofficial. I just raised that "this would be a good thing". If it is possible outside the official route, great. If it possible inside the official route, ...

For a division, you have to disband it temporarily to detach a unit, yes. You can reassemble it the same turn at no cost, minus the unit you subtracted. ok, I show my inexperience for the game/UI ..... The display at the bottom shows the units. If I have a division with a boat load of units and wan...

:sourcil: Since I'm on a roll, might as well continue :sourcil: Does this game provide the option of viewing the command structure of one, multiple, or all commands in "typical" TOE structure ? Dumb Question #2

I'm working my way through the tutorial and have a question regarding transfering a unit from one command to another. Dumb Question #1

Just loaded the game and trying to learn my way around. First question : How do you minimize this game to free up the PC ? Windows based programs allow this directly with the mouse. Legacy programs (like War in the Pacific) allows me to Alt-Tab and it sends it down. Can't find anything that works. I...
