We've decided on Antietam/Sharpsburg for Saturday (high about freezing for the day), and then Gettysburg for Sunday AM early (when there is supposed to be a wintry mix coming down). Ooooooo.............

I love it all! Thanks so much to both of you.

I'll post up some pics of the trip when I get a chance. Pops is a pro photog, so hopefully it is nice weather for pics. A snow-laden field might be cool.

Need Confederate march route to Gettysburg

This weekend I will be spending Saturday hiking around Harper's Ferry, then driving to Gettysburg that evening, staying the night and waking up early and touring Gettysburg battlefield on Sunday AM. Should be neat. What I'd like is the following: [color="RoyalBlue"]the approach route to Gettysburg o...

I just thought it was weak comedy. I am fairly sure that couldn't have made a bad SNL night. Nothing clever, nothing witty. Poor delivery. I understood what they were attempting to portray, but felt it was lame. The only decent part I thought was the beginning when he mentioned the various states th...

Is it Phillip or Phillipe for you? Because in France this is Philippe :p oke: ;) You know, I totally forgot. How Anglo-centrist of me... :clown: Philippe = French Philip/Phillip = English Felipe = Spanish And calling me Phil isn't the worst it could be. I cannot tell you how many women refer to me ...

So has this change to the in-house program been done? I thought I read something earlier today about how region names will now be changeable via the xls files and no need to edit the region files individually.

Sweet. Looking forward to trying this out, Clovis.

So do you feel the extended battling was due to the retreat issue?

Get me up to snuff, blokes!

Been away from the game for about a year now, but I've been regularly checking in to see what hot improvements have been made! So now I've d/l the latest patch and applied. But I am curious as to one thing: What customizations or improvements are recommended as the hot tip? That is, what things not ...

Kinda curious as to why 'Albermale Sound' has not been correctly renamed to 'Albemarle Sound'. There has never been any place I've heard of referred to as 'Albermale'...

I apologize - I am just never here anymore. If someone can punch out a quick up-to-date list of what still exists, I will reformat that first post.

Give me what is still a problem - that is all I will post, and erase the previous stuff.

One of our aim is not to grow the games more and more complex. VGN is a change of focus compared to AACW or NCP. The military part will be slighly less intricate, with units being mostly Corps (except for colonial matters as you can guess). On the other hand, the novel parts are receiving much of o...

JW is spot on. They are in fact quite shallow. The OB are very difficult to understand in a historical context, because they are in fact quite new and have little history (relatively speaking). It's believed, IIRC, that they have appeared and disappeared over previous centuries. Anyhoo, they are cur...

My only question regarding side effects was concerning event reinforcements and whether their placement would be any way messed up by this. I think Pocus was telling me that it wouldn't be, but testing it out on 147Richmond, VA.rgn" would be an excellent region to test it with and that is what PBoe...

I'm currently d/l v1.09 and haven't done anything since v1.06.

But wanted to ask if the region 'Richmond' has been properly changed to 'Henrico', and if what was 'Henrico' has been properly changed to 'Chesterfield' region?

Those original region names are way off.

I haven't heard from PBBoeye in a while, but suspect that (as in all of us) real life may come into conflict with computer gaming. I am finding myself, that I can devote less and less time. However, I hope that there isn't a 'curse of the leader mod', with the disappearance of Stonewall, then Hanco...

They are incredible! It's hard to overstate how much a part they play in the whole visual appeal of the game.

Truly well done, JB!! :coeurs:

the appliance level should be set to Self, not Unit for your ability. Unit-level scope means that it benefits the whole unit, ie you merge a cav element into a division, which is a single unit, and it will slip like a soap in a bathtube. What you're saying, if I get this correctly, is that the cav ...

I really hope so because the work you are doing on CSA manpower via drafts and so forth could really change the official model if we can get a great effect. I say 'could' because I don't know how they'll ultimately view things. But ideally we'd like to get CSA numbers down to historic levels, and th...

One of the things I've found that affects these names getting changed is this - each name correction requires that ALL files be searched for the occurence of the name in question. The scn files, the event files (which there are a ton of) and so forth. Because those files use the region names for loc...

Excellent work, Hobbes. There aren't actually any edits needed to the graphic files - only the region data files as they are what 'locate' the harbor image. So aside from Westmoreland and any you've mentioned, it's really just an issue of severing (or adding) harbor exit points in the data files. No...

I am hoping that the drafting tweaks that Clovis is working on will produce better numbers (realistic) for CSA manpower. If we can get that done, then perhaps improving CSA cav/inf quality can follow. But I agree that the ahistorical numbers issue has to be handled first. RE: horse head issue - isn'...
