Well I could have hoped that a diplomatic system as I have suggested would not be complicated by virtue of "logic" or "cunning," but simplistic by virtue of "randomness." Foreign policy is subjective despite all the 19th century's pretensions (and perhaps the UN's pretensions) that foreign policy is...

I grew up in Athens, dated a girl in Decatur and now live in Huntsville... all three are on the map, but only Decatur is an actual structure. Twelve miles away is Belle Mina, home of Alabama's first governor and once a venue which entertained both A.S. Johnston and P.G.T. Beauregard. Fifteen miles a...

It must be that many of these officers won their "von" during these 18th century wars.

I wonder if the elder Manstein and Manteuffels were as bright and displayed as much verve as their descendents.

WOW! Did you see how many names popped up that would earn renown again almost 200 years later? These names are later revisited in the forms of Third Reich army and army group commanders!! Manstein Manteufel Von Arnim Kleist Beck And then one name revisted 150 years later as one of the most sinister ...

I believe more and more that AGOED's engine can be translated into an excellent WWII campaign game. WEGO games are simply the best wargames out there (WITP, Combat Mission, Panzer Command, AGEOD). I'd like to see an operational level WEGO system for World War II. You can go back to hexes as far as I...

"Diplomacy" Engine

I will be very very curious to see how the diplomacy element of VGN is supposed to work... in theory. To me this will make or break the game. Diplomacy has been the weakest link in every campaign-based game since the beginning of computer wargaming... pointless, random, dull and completely unrealist...

He may be slightly past Frederick's time, but Luigi Boccherini was employed by Frederich Willhelm II and Napoleon's brother.

Siekster. Care for another PBEM in either the F&I War or ARW? If we do F&I, I'll play the British this time. It won't matter which side in ARW. You call the game.

15 day turns on a smaller scale map? Any thoughts on how the dynamics of campaigning will look in that instance?

I had marched Sherman to the sea from Corinth to Mobile and found it absolutely crucial to garrison every region with small brigades. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but does not lack of military control of a region prevent full flow of supplies to depots? I had found that maintaining milita...

No dreaming, but definitely day-dreaming. I imagined the hell of an eight-day assault against rebel entrenchments that caused nearly 35,000 casualties in AACW. That is a 20% casualty rate among the corps committed. This was a final battle against the ANV at Norfolk, Virginia in the Fall of 1865....

Very enlightening response though, Markshot. You are a business advisor for good reason.

AGEOD Expansion Packs

Expansion packs have been such gaming cash cows as far back as I could remember. I'm reminded of the Do 335, Go 229 and P-38 expansion packs for Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe. If the game is nothing but a good thing, then keep cashing in on them! You know I'll buy them. So... why not issue an expa...

WOW! Thanks! I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience! I updated AACW this morning before heading into work. I'm super-pleased there is the replay added in. Thanks all at AGEOD. I'll be diving into WWI as well after tax season. Downloading the latest patch seems to have helped greatly. I s...
