One thing about the game that took me a long time to grasp was that this is not a "war" game and to take your time compared to games like Civil War 2. Having played just about all the AGEOD games I did struggle at first with PoN because of the scope. Don't rush too early and try and conquer the worl...

Yeah I was still a little unsure on how the colonization aspect fully worked. I'm so used to other strategy games where you need to "declare" war to take over and use other nation's territory like in Civilization. Now that I've gone back and read the manual and understand how the CP% works and how t...

You were right Loki, they were hiding in the trees the whole time. I made peace with them and and soon as they accepted a unit appears in Lome next to my troops. I had left my marine brigade in Lome while the light infantry went north. Explains why I couldn't see them.

Why does anchorage not build?

Playing the 1880 scenario and and I cannot get any kind of anchorage or coaling station built in Lome. Playing as German I declared war on the Dahomey tribe and took their capital city and coastal province. But for some reason when I try and build an anchorage it always disappears the next turn. I h...

I think those nation traits only change due to changes on government or other events. How you play your nation will not change those on their own.

Thank you for a great AAR Herr Dan. I just got back into this game while waiting for To End All Wars to come out (hopefully) at the end of August. This AAR made me buy the Scramble for Africa and I am enjoying this scenario. It is much easier to get into than the standard 1850 scenario. I have spent...

I picked up the 1880 DLC campaign and decided to get back into this game after not playing this game for well over a year and felt so lost when I was looking at the F4 screen. Thanks for doing these videos because they helped me re learn the economy aspects to this.

Well, that is just the point of all the seniority rules. To make the player face the problems Lincoln (mainly) ad Davis faced with many of his high ranking generals. Its part of the "fun" to suffer it  You can always dismiss them but it will cost you NM and VP... and if we are talking about M...

Removing Leaders

Is there a way to remove leaders from the game? I'm in a situation right now where I have a 3-star general with horrible skills, but he has the most seniority. I don't want this man leading a regiment much less an entire army group and would love nothing more than to remove him from service.

...what would be the subject of this 'monster' game? My guess would be that the 'monster' game is a game about game development. A strategy game about making a strategy game would be the ultimate game. Birth of America, American Civil War, Great Invasions, and Napoleon's Campaigns, are all games wi...

I think Gettysburg had over 40,000 casualties so yours could have been possible if you had stubborn generals who didn't want to give up the fight. Sounds like your in a tough spot because I don't see how the CSA can lose that many men in one battle and live to fight too many more days. I haven't had...
