Guys, coal could have been replenished en route by escorting coal barges/cranes or whatever if they were desperate enough not to stop. They could have taken off guns and unnecessary combat equipment to fill the smallest ships with coal if the goal was to travel. The abstraction's most serious issue...

Regarding the WW2 dash, I said that, why not? One good reason is that A-H destroyers did not even remotely have the range to sail from Pola to Wilhelmshaven without coaling several times, plus if the dreadnoughts & pre-dreadnoughts had to burn coal manoeuvring & accelerating during battle they woul...

Actually English is a more retarded language not Polish, you never know how to spell anything.

I'm just joking around - I've taught several university courses on the First World War, and was recalling how I always stumbled over pronouncing Przemyśl. :)

We are doing some major tweaks to munitions usage in the latest beta patch, it will become more important (and stockpiles will be used up faster). Still testing and tweaking, but some important changes are coming which should both increase the importance of the bigger guns, and make shell shortages...

Another quick question - when Hindenberg appears, does he appears as OberOst (i.e. GHQ for the Eastern Front), or will I need to manually create the HQ for the East?

Thanks for the info! 1. When you hover over each replacement type, it will tell you of a possible maximum number of replacements (for example, max of 300). The game recommends 10% of that total, or 30 for a max of 300. So the 'max' number is the number of elements currently on the map? 3. Depends on...

A Few of Questions

I have a few questions about specific aspects of TEAW: 1. On the Replacements screen, the tooltip suggests keeping a replacement pool of 10% of the number of elements using that replacement. Where, exactly, do I find out how many elements I have of each unit type? I can't seem to find the informatio...

The battle at Amherst looks like a toss-up - I don't think Hamilton & Franklin are being force-marched, so Jackson should arrive first, but Bank's forces will be fighting the relatively well-rested Hamilton & Franklin instead of the weary Grant that he was expecting. Still, the plan is IMHO the righ...

However, the image shows the trouble the AI continues to have with the redeployment phase. The British armies don't move at all, leaving Calais undefended. FR V and some random corps pile up in one space, and the French leave a 5 space wide hole in the middle of the line. :bonk: -Doug Too bad about...

AI & Mandatory Offensives

In my most recent game as the CP, I noticed some strangeness with the AI & mandatory offensives. The AI choose Plan 17 for France & the Grand Duke plan for Russia (I may have the name wrong, but it was the historical one). However, when it came time to launch the mandatory offensives, only the Frenc...

Strange Case of Isolation

I've come across a rather strange case of an army being isolated. Playing as the CP, the French V Army occupied Neufchatel in Belgium in their Early August 1914, so I counter-attacked with the German III Army. After a bloody fight, I won, with the French retreating to Bastogne. In the reinforcement ...

Once released from the fortresses, garrisons cannot be reattached to them, in the PC game. This suggests me I should add such a feature in the Stacks Reorganization window, scheduled for 1.07. ;) There might be an easier way to handle attaching/detaching garrisons. If you click on a garrison, there...

I think that's why Bruchmuller is an event that can be played only once (MaxOccurrences=1), so when it's played, the effects are applied and the event card is immediately removed from the game . That means you will not find any one of such single occurrence events in the "deck", if already played. ...

Oddity with Double Agent Event

In a game I just started as the Central Powers, among the events I selected to keep in August 1914 was Mata Hari. Immediately after the events phase, the Entente AI played the Double Agent event, with the text 'Mata Hari Captured . . .' This was despite the fact that I had not played the Mata Hari e...

Great AAR, dougbush93. It's interesting to see how quickly the French reacted to the sweep through Belgium. It certainly would be nice to still be able to grab Calais, and do you have the corps to push forward into the gap in the French lines along the Meuse? Capturing Rheims would certainly be nice...
