There is another game (two actually and a third in the works) covering the Shogun era: Takeda I+II. http://www.ezgame.com/ Don't know if you can still buy the first one. Had a linear campaign with some different path depending on outcome of battles and events. Simple but fun. Second game had a campa...

I'm pretty sure Pocus have said in some thread that the patch containing the removal of division HQ will not be compatible with saved games. It's release lies quite a bit into the future, though so there is time to finish any current campaign I suppose.

Stonewall and Pocus, thanks for your answers. I find this idea very intruiging and the one about recovery rate even more so. Big battles shouldn't come about easy and ought to have significant conseqeunses. I haven't had the chance to play very much so far, maybe I should try vanila a bit more befor...

If I understand you correctly I only have to change the number with the the 1861/05/01 event for CSA and US respectively? What is different if I don't change the other dates compared to if I do? (question make sense?). There is also a INC-file in the Includes map called EarlyForcePool. That have no ...

veji1, you are so right!
Every wargame I've come across suffer from this. More planning, fewer battles,
every action to have consequences is the way to go.
Not everyones cup of tea, but that's how I would like things to be.

This feels more and more like a big issue. As I've written somewhere else, stuff like this have a big negativ impact on the immersion factor. If it goes bad enough it also affect the outcome of games. I haven't played that much, but my impression is that often there is a string of battles during a t...

johnhulten,I'll give you some of my experince with Vista. It works but I have had quite a lot of problems. I had several cases of a black screen and subsequent restarts. Then Pocus made it clear to me that I had a problem with virtuall memory. When I checked it turned out that Vista for some reason ...

Is it possible to have a rough estimate on when those one Theater Campaigns will be availiable? I would like to try Pbem and I feel like it is maybe wise to start a bit smaller then with a Grand Campaign. At the same time I'm not sure how long I can wait :coeurs:

..almost always the third or fourth battle in a series,.. A lot , if not most, of the battles in my games have been like that. It's like The Seven Days all the time. To make it more belivable I look at them like phases of the same battle. If it leads to unrealistic discrepancies in the number of ca...

I started a new campaign and noticed that Beauregard's Hq were missing from the very start. Well, it's there in the panel to the right when I mouse over B. but no picture and no way to split it from B. Is it only me that experince this from the start?

I have sent my last turn with the problem regarding Beauregard. As to the other stuff I'm inclined to belive it was my mind that played some tricks on me. I was tired and I'm sorry if I sounded a bit harsh. I think it's a waste of time to search for them now(if they ever excisted). You and the other...

I think it can happen with other brigades than integrated ones. I had a division under A P Stewart wich I belive is an ordinarie brigade general. When I split his division one of the brigades were split as well. I apologize if I'm wrong about this but I thought it was worth mention.

Odd things

Hm, I don't know how to say this but my game are behaving more and more erratic. Some stuff doesn't affect gameplay but feels annoying. Like names and pictures that changes so that you have two div.hq in one division all of a sudden but one of them are really a brigade. Other thing does. Like raider...

Do you only get Army HQ as events? I have three now and Lee just became active. It seems like I have to strip Beauregard of his command and give it to Lee. I have one army in Memphis and one in Kentucky as well. Will I be able to buy one more or do I wait for some event not knowing when that will ha...

Restore saved game after critical error.

Well, I don't know if this is redundant information but I'll give it anyhow. I had a critical error and subsequently a CTD. Went to load game after restart. The whole line for my current campaign had disappeared! The horror, the horror! After some time of panick and cursing I went to the AACW folder...

If you have the stop after battle option checked you can scroll the map when the game stops and shows the outcome. It will move beneath the result window that is fixed in place. That way you can at least check out where a battle took place immeditely after the same.

Random thoughts

I'm at work in the middle of the night and a couple of thing entered my mind. Maybe I could get some kind of answer in the manual but not from where I am right now. First. What happens if you combine offensive stance with avoid the enemy? If anything. Wouldn't it be cool if such an order told the fo...

Another try. This time I didn't do anything for about 10 minutes. So far, so good. Then I started to manipulate some stacks and moved around a little. It worked fine. Can it have something to do with the fact that I have both "Textures initialized" and "Regions Pre-caching" checked? If I do a lot ri...
