Re: Union landing on Virginia (York) Peninsula

Simply put, is there anything the Confederate player can do to trigger a substantial Union landing on the Virginia (York) peninsula? Against the AI? I'm not sure. I notice the AI likes to invade Norfolk and York County, at least in the two games I've played against them. First game I didn't have a ...

Re: How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

When are you trying to add the NM, at the beginning of the game or at a certain date? There's plenty of threads explaining how to add events to the scenario. Here are some: http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=51423 http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=250&t=30337&hilit=some+scri...

I haven't, sorry. I know FOG:Empires was a good success and therefore that bodes well for the future, but haven't heard anything about what next title will be.

Re: Civil War 3 suggestion that I like so much I'm posting it again ;)

Sounds like a nice way of saying they're dumbing it down ;) I mean...kind of? Like, because the UI isn't retarded anymore, its less complex. However, they've added entirely new sections that are really good like decadence. Overall game is less complex, but most of that lowered complexity is because...

Re: Civil War 3 suggestion that I like so much I'm posting it again ;)

Would be cool, but the current new AGEOD engine is less complex than the old engine, so I doubt we'd see a game that would be more detailed than Civil War 2. So a new engine that essentially isn't as good as the old one? Eh, there's benefits: 1) The UI still isn't great, but the tooltips and ledger...

Re: New Engine

Nobody reads in the future :) First, Empires need to be a decent success, at the very least. Once that is done (hopefully) then we have no 'prohibited subject', so among others, yes, a game set in the Victorian era is always a possibility! Well, FOG:E is doing very well so hats off to you! I will s...

Re: How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

Out of interest, how low does national morale have to be before one side or the other calls it quits? IIRC there are certain events that change the threshold so it changes depending on the year. But to start I think the threshold is like 180NM to win for USA and 25 for Confederates to lose, or some...

Re: AI not purchasing replacements

Yea, I found a post from another game forum that talks about a setting that turns off or turns on AI depending if there's an ORD file, but I don't think that solves my problem, since theoretically me switching to them and making one change would generate an ORD file. My issue isn't AI not working wi...

Re: How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

Was wondering this too. Until beginning of 1863, CSA Athena gave me a good fight on Colonel rating, low detection bonus, +1 activation bonus, historical attrition for player only, and hard activation rule. I've noticed they build so many ships so I'm trying to write a force pool limit event right no...

Re: Native Indians regional devisions

It's not the Sioux event, that event happens in Minnesota. This is Apache/Hopi in Arizona. Sioux were never in that part of the country. Yet they turn hostile when the Sioux event fires. That's why I said it's a bug. Was there an Apache/Hopi uprising at the same time? Sorry, I didn't know you were ...

Re: NO inactive combat penalty for inactive generals?

Has anyone actually tested this then? Are we saying there is NO inactive penalty for inactive generals? I know what the manual says, but it sounds like the logs are the things to trust. Also, is it possible that the penalty could be "indirectly" applied through he movement penalty? As in,...

Re: McClellan not given command of the AotP?

Does anyone have a fix for these events or can give me the event ID to fiddle with the code? I see a million events pop-up regarding AOTP but none of them ever do anything, regardless of where McClellan is or if hes won a battle.

Re: Stopping the AI from building so many ships!

If you load the opponents side of the game, and then save that side's orders, during turn execution, those will be the ONLY orders the opponents side has. The AI only generates orders, if there is no ORD file for that side to execute. There is a parameter which can be set, so that during turn execu...

Re: Civil War III

Field of Glory Empires was a (seemingly) economic success, getting lots of attention and praise on Reddit and Steam, specifically because it's a good game and is coming a few months after the Paradox Imperator Rome launch disaster. Being their most popular and successful game, I have to imagine AGEO...

Re: AI not purchasing replacements

Set to Colonel, and the South still seems more concerned with building timberclads to guard east coast rivers than purchasing replacements. Yea, I don't think there's any fix for that, other than to save the game, load the CSA side and make purchases for it, then save as the Union and run the turn....

Re: Native Indians regional devisions

Sorry for necro, but didnt want to start new thread. Im playing USA vs CSA Athena and either late 1862 or early 1863 (cant remember which) I noticed that both arizona boxes were taken over by "neutral" Apache indians, even though I had 100% military control and a garrisoned stockade. Is th...

Yea, they all get used because I'm trying to replace these attrition hits. I've never had this issue in other games using historical attrition.

Re: Replacements

The replacement to hit ratio is not the same as in other games. 200-300 is not that much really. The game is well balanced and you can easily replace those troops. Hi Searry, I have no conscripts by the time the war fully starts in 1702 became of fixed units just taking unrealistic amounts of "...

Replacements

Hi All, Im playing as Bourbons and at beginning of game (Turn 2 onward) can't understand why my hits in my replacements screen keep going up by 200-300 every single turn? I have historical attrition on, but my units are sitting on depots and not taking damage. I can't figure out what is going on. Ca...

A few noob questions

Hello all, I have a few newbie questions that I'd appreciate if you could help with (I read manual several times and this forum): 1. The manual says that naval ships will give supply to troops in neighboring land tile. This has been contradicted in several places. Does anyone know if they actually d...
