S-P AI tries to unify with itself

I've seen the AI do this a couple time or so ... he plays his Unification chit on Piedmont. It's technically a legal move (a capitol in Italy), but I'm pretty sure a useless one.

Tahiti bug

I'm not sure but I think I may have found a small data bug with Tahiti. Here's the problem: It's 100% French military controlled, 45% French CP, and 5% British CP. Yet, it's highest colonial penetration reads "British Influence." This is a problem, as France cannot Protectorate it as it's not a Fren...

How low does the Sou W morale have to go before Polish intervention?

I can see why you'd give them to the Sib W's ... not only for the reason you mention, but it perhaps lessens the gamey tactic of the Sou W's lowering their own morale to gain a huge ally?

This game has been on hold for a while (about since NC came out, IIRC). On top of that, new 1.08 patches have made the version we are playing fairly antiquated, and on top of that, our Union c-in-c is retiring. Shall we call it quits on this one, perhaps? And then, if sufficient interest, perhaps be...

The Beleaguered City

Jackson, the capitol of Mississippi, falls to Union forces in the West...but the larger effort to encircle Vicksburg fails, as Rosecrans wing is hurled back from Port Gibson. Here's the map. Curtis was plotted to one one zone south, directly to the east of Vicksburg. Rosecrans had a tougher mission;...

Action in the Transmississippi

Yes, over 10K casualties should neutralize two western CSA divisions for a good long while. I think it would make more sense to raise the number to 75% controlled. This prevents rail use by either side (or both sides) in contested areas. This would be a heavy play-balance blow to the Union if adopted. If you looks at my Grand Campaign AAR, I am having a hell of a time keeping western rail...

Not much happening. Sheridan tries hard to catch Forrest at Tuscumbia, where we were waiting for him to cross the river...yet he gets away. My ideal is the same, except I save a slot for at least one cav element, for it's recon power. If I have an elite I'll build a div around that elite, yes, so as to add that ability. One pontooner per army/corps is good enough, however. The ability aids the whole stack, and one pontooner per division...

Destination: Vicksburg

Another good turn out here in the Union west. Sherman comes marching into Little Rock from Madison, and takes the Arkansas capitol by storm. Sherman gains a seniority notch (still not promotable though, he's at 6/8) and a Union-loyal Arkansas brigade shows up at Little Rock. Nice! A good new brigadi...
