Re: Teleporting Ottoman general commanding german and austrian troops ?

I hope this game gets a huge patch that fixes this problem.

The AI should be able to manage theaters in a realistic way + one GHQ per Theater is a must.

Currently the game just shows that WW1 is maybe too big and complex for the Engine.

Re: Love this Game!!

If you have never done simple supply before you might think the name is not correct. It is simple supply because you only draw supply from the region you are in and any adjacent regions. That is, no railroads or supply networks assist in supply distribution. What I learned to do with WIA works very...

Re: Better explanation of the simple supply system

No trial or error about it. If a region is showing a supply level of 5, then it will give 25 supply to units. As a rough rule of thumb you take the supply level that shows for the region and times it by 5 to get how much supply is available to units. Units can also take supply from the neighbouring...

I am not sure how many of you are fans of this war, I am. My ancestors made their trek to America largely due to the everts flowing from this war. Re: Next Patch ETA ?

The AI is not only the engine, it can be guided or oriented or whatever you may call it. Could be wrong, but RUS Gold is considered to have the best AI in any Ageod game, if you look at the sct files with AI in the name there are 10 files, in all around 590 kb in size. In EAW 3 files, and 88 kb. Co...

Re: Next Patch ETA ?

EAW patch will have to wait until after WSS is finished. I've got a list of items to look into at that point though. Regarding AI, I doubt there will be a whole lot of change in this area. The AI is controlled at the game engine level, and I doubt there will be a lot of core changes to the AGEOD en...

Re: Which settings are the best (for AI) ?

Under any aggressive setting Protestant AI may go for Linz. Better to start again when it happens. For pbem I think Protestants are stronger especially when they were able to protect Prague and form good defense in Palatine when theater open for play. Then game is already lost for Catholics. So bet...

Re: Which settings are the best (for AI) ?

Hi! Well, the AI has it hard on this particular game, as the situation is very tight on supplies and resources, harsh weather... Not sure if it's possible to have easy supply for the AI only... i've never tried that option. If possible it will surely helps the AI a lot. If you are not veteran on AG...

We will miss a TEAW AAR by Ripster because of the poor AI, came something be done regarding this? In his own words: Lastly, TEAW would be a great game for an AAR but unfortunately the AI and the scripting (if there is any) are not as good as in RUS. The Western Allied AI just maxes out all of its n...

Re: Magazines and GHQs

On the question of how many GHQs should be available, I'm with Wiggum. It's not so much the extra armies that appeal to me but the notion of having a controlling figure for each theatre. It would feel much more historical. + i hope the next patch fixes the AI so that it no longer sends all those Ot...

Re: Magazines and GHQs

Is Hindenburg combined with some troops? In that case you are not able to promote him. As long as you have only one other German GHQ, I can't think of any other reason why you would not be able to promote him. About the armies assigned to GHQ, do you really have that many armies? I am not sure how ...

Re: Magazines and GHQs

The magazines you are finding are likely supply depots in former nomenclature if they do not move. If they do move, they are more like supply wagons. All nations, except Germany, get one GHQ. Germany gets one in the west and one in the east. So get Hindenburg on the eastern front and promote him. I...

Re: Lost 8 submarines during retreat ?!

EAW lacks some specific code for submarines that would prevent them to take damages from retreat. This might be do able by tweaking data but as you know Altaris had some IRL issues (hurricane Matthew) and then he has a project underway. But he will get there. The best thing you can do for him is a ...

Re: Was the rail pool thing ever fixed ?

Yes (actually, IIRC, we doubled the weight of infantry elements rather than changing the rail pool, so it wouldn't impact supply distribution). If you are playing with Centrals, you'll still have plenty of rail pool no matter what. The Western Entente have a little trouble but not much after 1914, ...
