Pirates freeze my game!

Has anyone seen this bug before? Game freezes during turn resolution when black pirate ships are firing at their targets. Can only return to desktop at that point. After years of owning and starting, but never finishing PON games, I determined to complete a full GC as France. After 5 weeks of steady...

Playing as a mercantilist

I am playing a GC as France and trying to provide as much as possible of the three domestic goods (food, common and luxury) to my loyal French subjects. I notice that as I provide more food (for example) the amount that the people can potentially consume keeps going up! Is there a way to fully satis...

Re: Is this the most active PON Site?

Pocus, are you suggesting that there might be an interesting announcement in a few months to attract more attention to the PON forum?

Re: Importance of Processor speed when playing Pride of Nations

Thank you all for that great feedback! I'm surprised that V for Vegas' i5 6600K has a similar turn resolution time to Satchel's i7 6700k. I thought the i7 would be much faster. I will try to reduce background applications in an effort to speed things up. And Satchel, the idea of 65 second processing...

Importance of Processor speed when playing Pride of Nations

I know, this has been talked about wayyyyyy too much but... This is the best game ever. And I'm desperate to make it run faster. Really. I know a lot of other posters claim they find it a "minor" issue, but to me it's catastrophic that I finally found the greatest game that I could play ob...

Thanks loki100 that worked! For all the others out there who bought the game several years ago on G.G., try accessing the matrix games list. Click on "MEMBER" (not "Register"). It just started downloading the patch automatically for me, even though I don't have a serial key. Downloading now. Can't w...

You are definitely not the only one Vaalen. I've been waiting all summer for news on the update. My hope is that it shaves a little time off the turn processing. Anything that makes this spectacular game a little better is a very good thing!

bbmike, your turn times are pretty similar to mine. Thanks for the comparison.
Pocus, any idea when we can expect the upcoming improvement on PoN's turn processing time? I'm giddy with excitement!

Thank you bbmike for the link. I wasn't aware of the latest beta. I can't wait to fire it up to see the changes. And I know this is a topic that's been covered to death, but how long are your turn times? Any settings or game options that seem to help speed things up for you?

Well from what Pocus wrote on this thread back in November, a new PoN patch is expected which will incorporate the improvements to the engine that were developed for WoN. Can't wait to see what this might lead to. Shaving 30 seconds or so off the turn processing time would make this game pure perfec...

Very much looking forward to the improvement in turn processing time. P.O.N. is simply the greatest strategy game ever made, but this one (important) problem has prevented me from playing nearly as much as I'd like to. On the other hand, I've purchased the boxed version of "The Thirty Years War". If...
