Re: Where does it show number of troops?

The number of troops is a bit of an abstract since an element is measured based on number of hits. At the element level you can see the number of troops in the bottom left of the unit information panel. Select the unit in a stack and then click on an element in the unit box on the right to bring up ...

Re: Where does it show number of troops?

The list of Army names that are auto allocated are in CW2 > GameData > Factions if you are looking to mod them. However, You can edit the army name on the map. 1. Unassign the army command (ignore NM and VP costs as they only apply at the end of the turn) 2. ALT + Left Click the Unit Tab for the sta...

Yeh, from what I have been able to dig up there isn't a lot of clarity on how the replacements actually work with those options but it does look like option 2 is not working as it should. You should definitely not be filling missing elements without at least 1 chit allocated. It is acing like you ge...

This is the wiki on replacements agewiki In principal, (as Captain Orso mentioned) recovering a hit does not necessarily consume a replacement chit .. but that does not explain the famElite recovering hits when no replacement chits are available There are events which allocate replacements, but from...

Also, for what its worth, I know that some 'missing hits' amounts in the replacement chit screen are not totally accurate. Some elements in mixed brigades count as missing hits for the wrong element type. This is easily seen with the Stonewall brigade appearing in early May '61, the light infantry ...

I am happy to have a look through the events and list the ones that perhaps could be enhanced. I have some spare time at the moment. I have noticed that the David Porter event also looks to have a syntax error as i think that event is meant to place him in Cairo unless it is occupied but instead put...

From my observations

The stack cohesion is not always reflective of the individual element/unit/division cohesion and therefore the stack power is not always accurate.

As you mention, a reload will often reset the stack cohesion.

I tend to just put it down as a "fog of war" feature ;)

Indeed .. some events are straight up without checks .. e.g the BeefedUpDefences events SelectFaction = USA SelectRegion = $Prince_George_MD Where as a lot of events have checks for MC such as the first 1861 US generals event SelectFaction = USA StartEvent = evt_nam_USA_1861Generals|1|1|NULL|NULL|NU...

On a side note, I usually have the International Brigade (a militia brigade which forms in NO) upgraded to regs before I get any Union activity around New Orleans. Is this a scripted upgrade, or is it due to Bragg and the normal upgrade path? Some of the units created by event come with stars of ex...

I have led you astray there James, sorry for that We need to use the original Alias Alias = uni_CSA_Reb1 ... do not make it Alias = uni_CSA_Reb1CO and therefore the unit pool line in the event file needs to be ChangeUnitPool = $uni_CSA_Reb1;3 I will try to get some time to test this myself in the ne...

A fine summary of his achievements I think there were 2 key things that worked against him in his advancement and recognition 1. Not too hard to do that in CW2>Gamedata>Units First you need to find a unit that is not in use .. I think you could probably use one of the units in the 209 to 215 range as I haven't come across anywhere that these are used If we take 209CSAVolunteersRgt .. That file is currently (excluding the cust...

I would add a MaxDate in there as well ... just make it the same as your MinDate to guarantee that is the date it occurs .. things don't always trigger on exactly the MinDate and may not for a few turns but should always trigger by the MaxDate at the latest. When testing stuff I also typically just ...

I think in terms of the CSA relationship with Spain it probably followed the general runs of naval neutrality of the time which would allow provisioning and critical repairs but not fitting with weapons. In game terms I think that would translate into supply and recovery of cohesion while in a forei...

In the example you have above The only explanation I can see is that the cohesion of the stack is not 100% in the first screen shot you provide which is strange since the single unit in that stack does have 100% cohesion ... which then translated to the stack on your reload. It would be an issue if ...

It can actually be done but you need to get the map utility from PhilThib. I was also considering taking a shot at adding a few extra regions in the east but have not found the courage yet. It is a developer tool, has no documentation and is a beast to use by everything I have read about it. It also...
