The game looks half finsihed as it is. What rubbish. Sure there are some minor commanders with generic portraits, but expecting images of every commander from 200 years ago to be easily accessible to the artists is wishful thinking. Ageod has an excellent record for producing polished games and thi...

So there's nothing else that can be done to improve the general's chances of passing the test? I would have thought some (favorable) external factors would help.

Improving chances of activation?

What steps can be taken to improve the chances of a general passing his Activation Test? I'd imagine that being within the command radius of a superior (if there is one) would help, as would being in a friendly rather than an enemy-occupied region. Any advice to help avoid seeing those 'brown envelo...

Possible bug

After moving a corps into Hamburg, I found on the next turn that the corps was renamed to 'French Detachment' and the corps name (Bernadotte) was assigned to a fleet of two ships that must have been located in the town. The same thing happened further down the river when another corps took a differe...

Ditto. 1100 vs 48000 (eh, it was Napoleon commanding after all). But then he was defeated after taking only 250 casualties and inflicting 3800.

I recall the same anomalies occurring with AACW.

Disembarking/resume game bug?

I'm playing the invasion of Britain scenario and have landed the grande armee in Dover. After saving the game I clicked on the resume game button today to find the army icon not in Dover, but Colchester (although the army actually occupies Dover according to the tool tip). I guess I should have used...

I'm not sure why I was getting such slow download speeds. I downloaded AACW when it came out no problems. Anyway, the download manager overcame the slow speed. How these fan-dangled magic number boxes work beats the heck out of me, but I'm sure happy when they do!

Thanks for the suggestion! I've never had the need to use a download manager before, but tried one out and it worked amazingly well! I got a ten-fold increase in download speed! Huzzah!

Download mirrors?

I realize this is a newly released game, but an average download speed of 20KB/sec is unacceptable (I should be getting ten times that). Are there any other download mirrors?

Well I hope I have not caused any trouble :( I was searching for a review of another game (COTA) and saw this AACW review at the top of the article search page...did not realise was not available to read. Don't be concerned about it. It's a technical issue that occurs from time-to-time and measures...

I'm drawn to just about any historical strategy game, but particularly enjoy those that pay attention to detail and provide a deep and rich game experience. A well designed interface and challenging AI are also at the top of my list. The ACW is a popular period to wargame and for good reason. AGEod ...
