A few various brainstorms

My ideas all stem from the decisions. Under the railroad and river transport sections, I think there should be decisions to expand rail roads on either side especially in the C.S.A. at the cost of WSU and $$$. Strategical decisions to pursue at the cost of $$$, WSU, and conscripts. So, if you wanted...

Re: CWDBMod

I like the attention to detail on the cavalry part. Not many are aware of how much more effective cavalry from the Southern states were, since they had many of their own horses, and was required to learn to ride well due to lack of rail roads w/ vast country side.

Re: Hood's Division Missing Civil War 2

At Gettysburg, Hood was wounded while leading his division from an exploding shell, and Evander M. Law assumed command of his division. Is he in Longstreet's Corps perhaps? I think that's the reason Hood isn't in this scenario.

Re: Current situation in my playthrough

My number 1 tip is this: As CSA, use the War Bonds and Taxes decisions twice each before using the Print more money so it will balance the variation. BUILD FACTORIES AS SOON AS YOU HAVE THE OPTION, DO NOT GET ANYTHING ELSE BEFORE YOU EXHAUST THOSE DECISIONS. Print more money increases inflation. Ra...

Re: Game still to unbalanced for CSA

I don't know if I quite understand. The CSA has excellent generals, the Union has good generals as well, but as historically, it takes a while for them to come into the game and take higher commands. The only general that I think is underrated is Nathan Bedford Forrest, his defense needs to be at le...

Current situation in my playthrough

It's around Jan. 1863. I'm playing as the CSA. :cwboy: I exhausted all options to build factories, arsenals, and powder mills. Every single playthrough I always make those a priority, using WS to the very last until I used all those options. Works out well everytime though it's tempting to delay a t...

Re: What's the best way to capture Colorado and California?

Thanks all. I've noticed South Park is loyal to the CSA. Was this random or manually put in? I'm well aware there have been Southern mining communities in the territories that show'd their support to the CSA, such as Virginia City. Sometimes I'll be real sneaky about it, I recruit copperheads in the...

What's the best way to capture Colorado and California?

Some people can disagree with me on this but I think the capturing of these states can be very valuable, so you can get unblockaded ports, as well as a lot of money. Any suggestions on units that can travel over rough terrain at a quick pace but deliver the firepower I need to capture federal strong...

How do you get foreign intervention?

Despite winning battle after battle, and having a national morale of 140, I could never get foreign intervention on this one play through with the CSA. I had actually won earlier than historically in 1863, but even so I was really hoping I could get help from GB just so I could see how it would go. ...

Re: Indians revert to Neutral - WAD?

There's an event for the Sioux uprising that changes the faction relationship for the IND (Indian) faction. Since there's only one faction for all the tribes, the Sioux affects all IND faction tribes everywhere. It also stops everywhere. So it's WAD but it should be redesigned to reflect the isolat...

Re: CSA Template vs Union

Hmm.. Well this is historically what it's supposed to be. The trick isn't overcoming the North's manpower or resource, that is impossible. The trick is to target the NM and/or try to get foreign powers involved. That is what Lee understood, as many people forget that the battles themselves didn't wi...

I just demolished the CSA as the Union in 63. I've started a CSA campaign, my main investments are building factories, and extending riverine/railroad pools. However, I have been forming brigades of infantry out west, going to send some good generals that are skilled in reducing supply usage, and ar...

Not too hard to do that in CW2>Gamedata>Units First you need to find a unit that is not in use .. I think you could probably use one of the units in the 209 to 215 range as I haven't come across anywhere that these are used If we take 209CSAVolunteersRgt .. That file is currently (excluding the cus...

Is there a way to create a unit that appears if a city is captured? Yeah, that's fairly simple. You can use an existing event as a template. There are a few events that the Union has that create volunteers if they capture specific regions. Below is the one for Nashville, TN. It's using an EvalRgnVP...

Good "stationary" generals

Greetings. This is a silly question, but do you ever find some generals great to have for an imaginary "training camp?" For example, I just station Henry Halleck in St. Louis and rename the force to "Missouri Training HQ" and literally spam volunteers to be spent there. Then, over time, the militia ...

Capturing San Francisco will already give you a large unblockaded harbor; one which can only be brown-water blockaded. What more do you want? In reality, trade with Europe through San Francisco would be minimal. It's a hell of a long way from Europe to California. Plus, anything imported through Sa...
