General Cordoba disappears

In my campaign General Cordoba will mysteriously disappear after spawning in Frankfurt after a turn or two, this has happened in two campaigns. No battles were fought, he simply vanishes. There is also an event that keeps firing over and over called " Some Spanish troops are sent to Flanders " but i...

Thank you both for the speedy replies. This information is invaluable as I've been playing with the historical supply and attrition options on. This has been a great and challenging game so far. I haven't had the opportunity to plunder much as most areas have been constantly pillaged. Do supply wago...

Questions about depots and supply

Do depots produce supply? Under the description it says + Land Construction capacity, I assume they allow more regiments to be raised in a province and don't produce any supply, can someone clarify this? It would be nice to have more information on supply, I searched the wiki but it seems to be for ...

Adding and editing provinces on the map

Has anyone done this? Is this possible? I would like to add provinces or breakup existing provinces into multiple provinces in Virginia in an attempt to fix the stalemate the eastern theater develops, thanks.

The pre-war Militia system all but ceased to exist when Militia were supplanted by Volunteer regiments that were no longer bound by specific county recruitment in 1861. The Militia's core organization structure was not sufficient for war on this scale and since each state had a quota and limit on th...

This is the problem I have with the game as well, the Eastern front turns into an entrenched stalemate similar to something you would expect in a World War 1 game when in reality the US Civil War was a war of mobility. Trench warfare was a last resort and the armies that were trapped in them were us...

Why I posted this thread in the first place is to figure out if the game is competitive. I don't believe it is. I'm not trying to say it's not a good game (it's great). And I'm not trying to say that people don't enjoy playing the losing side. A lot of people enjoy playing Japan even though it's mo...

I've been away from the game for a bit. Coming back to it. I'm wondering if playing the CSA is much like playing Japan in War in the Pacific? Japan has no hope. The game designers beefed Japan up seriously in order to make it into a game at all. Japan has a chance but usually only if the Allied pla...

Sometimes I have this problem in ACW2. Make sure you have a clean boot of your computer. Load up the game. Exit. Load it up again. It always run 100x more smoothly. I'm guessing the necessary files have been loaded up in the RAm so it runs better. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Whenever there i...

Although the AI is less likely to test you in the Carolinas, historically the Confederates kept around 6 divisions around Charleston because of amphibious invasions as early as 1861 which resulted in the capture of Forts between Savannah and Charleston and other vital areas to resupply the Atlantic ...

Nice post BattleVonWar I agree entrenchments were effective when used properly. Fredricksburg, Culps Hill, Fort Donelson, Vicksburg and Missionary Ridge are all good examples off this. The point i'm trying to make is they were also very situational and inconsistent until later in the war, for logica...

Isn't it ironic that players complain that a frontal assault against a defended position causes too many casualties in a Civil War game? I suppose that everyone is certain they can do better than Grant or Lee but may be disappointed to find out they have more casualties than the Battle of Antietam....

The Confederates imported several foreign artillery pieces, including an unknown number of Austrian 6lb howitzers, at least 13 24lb Austrian howitzers, a pair of 3.75 in Austrian rifles, a Blakely rifle, and several Whitworth Rifles- which are perhaps the most well-known. More info here. While the ...

Question: Multiple stacks in the same region and combat.

This seems to be an occurrence that happens mostly early in the war before divisions and corps are allowed but has always confused me. One example. I was railing in reinforcements to Beauregard at Manassas at the same time McDowell entered the region. McDowell;s large Army managed to engage ONLY the...
