Re: How did the game do?

Don't count on it. Ageod tends to abandon games after a short period of time. Sometimes they'll put out a patch for glaring bugs shortly after a games is released, but after that they are abandoned to work on the next "great" game. Also, they are working on their next game engine so that m...

After the last patch and starting a new campaign game, when I found a Russian horse artillery unit running around Holland by itself was the last straw with me. That was when I finally said enough was enough.

Re: WoN current state

I've played over 300 hours of WoN against the AI and after 2 full campaigns I gave up. There are so many problems with the game I finally uninstalled it as the devs are obviously not doing any improvements to the games which was a shame as I really was looking forward to a good Napoleon era game and...

The biggest problem is Ageod doesn't take advantage of multi-core processors. If they did the game turns could conceivably be much faster in processing.
So until they do that a server isn't going to help.

I add them to Corps or Army commands and they are used there.

Unfortunately, Ageod doesn't take advantage of multi-core cpus. Their games only run on one core which can cause turns and scrolling to be slow.

Re: Mac

I think you have to decide which part of the Lincoln/McClellan frustration battle you want the player to be. Are you Lincoln, who is desperate for a fighter who will actually take his army to war? Or are you McClellan, whose plans are constantly disrupted by the CiC, to the point where Lincoln actu...

Re: Blockade Blues

I do agree with Captain_Orso's advice, but would add this clarification. Be careful to differentiate between the Commerce Box and the Blockade Box as I think there is a slight variation between WON and CWII. The French target the commerce box with their card for runners. The Commerce box can also b...

Good news for a little covered time period.

However, the other side of me wishes one of the current games is fixed so that it is playable. To me, as a solitaire player, Wars of Napoleon is completely unplayable in its current condition. I hope there is a fix in the works.

Well, I tried these things, and no luck. Started a new game, battled with Forrest to raise his seniority. Promoted him to 2 stars, battled some more. Got his seniority up to 1, can't promote. I tried it with his stats at 6 6 2 like baseline, no difference. Incidentally, I've adjusted RE Lee to 7-7-...

Re: My first AEGOD Game and game play settings.

My advice, don't over think the game. Just dive in and start playing. There were many games I started and learned a lot by just experimenting to see what would happen. Attack when I probably wouldn't normally, put ships where I might never have thought of, etc. just to see the results. I'd do invasi...

1. Maybe your dock workers went on strike is why it took longer. 2. Maybe your troops got lost and went down the wrong road initially. 3. Maybe those 6,000 partied the night before the battle and were drunk. 4. Maybe B knew of the attack before hand and came to the aid of A unexpectedly. Not trying ...

Yes the French player can still get money from trade areas. In the game I'm playing right now I don't have the French navy trying to contest the seas, but I immediately sent them to the trade areas. All naval resources go to various trade areas and are receiving trade. I do lose a lot of French ship...

Re: William T Sherman- The Most Overrated General of the Civil war?

Not everyone finds Lee, Jackson, Grant, or Forrest "great." Lee was good at retreating warfare. On the offensive he wasn't so great. Jackson was good as he was going up against some of the worst Union generals. Would he have done as well against the better Union generals that came along la...

For "my" generals I typically keep the trainers in big cities and then I just assign all the rest to various units. I don't exclude them just because they are poor. I don't have much choice until better generals start to show up. Also, I'm not big on forming the "perfect" divisio...

CPU cores used?

I was noticing last night when I was playing Wars of Napoleon that it was using only 1 of the 8 cores on my computer.
Aren't Ageod games multi-threaded applications? Seems that if Ageod was to use all the cores on a computer it might perform faster.
