Yes and hoping that there is a rule or system that prevents you from being the first Napoleon of history, i mean avoiding the fortress and striking at the Capital. You can do that but first you have to take ALL the fortress on your way in order to do that. Of course, the Coalition did exactly that ...

A neat mod would be for the Balkan Wars of 1912-13. At that point, having a variety of war plans for the various countries would be interesting, given the rapidity with which those nations turned on one another.

In the board game, Germany needs to play the "submarine warfare" political chit to start restricted submarine warfare. At that point, the U-Boats should be placed in the Atlantic hex. If the computer game follows that, then you likely can't start subamarine warfare until that chit is played.

I'm not sure why you'd want to keep it going, the dreadnoughts England has coming out just historically would keep you busy--if they use historical construction times, you'll be even further behind the curve. And if England builds to match, that is alot of "R" class dreadnoughts you'll have to face ...

Historically, the Russians did beat the hell out of the Austrians in Galicia in 1914, causing nearly a million casualties in the first three months of operations and pushing the Austrians back to the gates of Przemysl and the foothills of the Carpathians. The Austrians did call off reinforcements fr...

No, the currency printing is an option--it does not increase your per turn income. As far as I know, nothing other than perhaps the income tax events do. Investing in infrastructure gives returns in war supplies, general supplies, and ammo, but not money. If you want more money on a regular basis, y...

I'd be inclined to 4|3|2 as a division commander (or even 4|3|3) and 5|2|2 as a corps commander--he moved rapidly in the Valley in 1864, but his battle record wasn't particularly impressive. His attack on Sheridan had an impressive start, but ultimately led to his defeat. And getting almost to Washi...

He did command the larger of Lee's 2 wings, or corps, and was senior to Jackson, pretty much at Lee's request--given that gifted commander relates to command points, I can't see that as being problematic. Especially as it disappears at the army commmand level.

I believe Spharv is correct, the issue Chris mentions is more of a tactical than operational one. Coupled with his decision to make "disciplining assaults" at Franklin for his faillure at Spring Hill, I would say 2 is maybe a stretch, but certainly closer to reality than a 4.
