Better late than never ;) I've found the bug and solved the problem. The solution is: DELETE UserPath.ini file. It's easy to fix it yourself. Find all leaders in units folder xxxx\GameData\Units\ and add those lines to them CmdCost = 0 Pillage = 0 These are two missing lines in some leader files. 1. The commander here is Caius Fabius, not Caesar himself.
2. Legions training level should be similar. Both side's legions are similar.

Thanks for the information! Installed the patch but when the game is loading, the black sreen still shows ECW 1.00. I tried to reinstall the patch, but it says, that the game is up to date... If you really want to have this 1.01 on your screen after patching it to 1.01, you can do it manually ;) .....
