Off the top of my head the Corps seem to have moved separately a lot along a large area then merged together in the same area when the enemy was found. It doesn't seem to me in my studies that they all moved in one big army together. They probably were closer to each other than the game represents b...

One think that I would like to see is being able to change the name of divisions or brigades in a stack and not just the name of the stack. I wish we could do that in CWII to make it more immersive. Of course it doesn't change gameplay at all...but it would be cool to be able to have an army organiz...

I like the idea of DLC that expands the timeframe and gives you a bit more to learn about and study on your own time. :)

Hopefully I didn't miss the opportunity to help make this another great game from Ageod. I just saw that testers were needed in the Steam forums a few days ago (I've been in the process of moving for the last month). Sent in my app a few days ago.

For me playing mostly CW2 I would like to be able to name and organize my brigades, divisions, corps, and armies instead of just naming stacks. Maybe a way to assign units to an army, brigade, division, etc and it moves to where it's supposed to go. It's more of an immersion thing. I also agree that...

AJE and CWII

I recently bought AJE and I am enjoying the game as much as CWII. I did notice that the manual for AJE is way more detailed on game mechanics than the CWII manual and some of it is very helpful but I have some questions about CWII based on AJE: 1.) Do AJE and CWII use the same game engine? I know th...

I don't know if bounty jumping would be the same thing. From what I know if you were a bounty jumper you would sign up to get the bounty then leave and sign up somewhere else. Does that count as desertion? I don't know many details about how it worked but did they even show up to be counted in a uni...

Civil War Music

What music have you added to the game? Put in almost all of the music from More Songs and Music from Gettysburg which is great for fife and drum and band (I didn't do any of the singing tunes). I'm a fan of fife and drum so I also put some of the tracks from this in there: http://www.amazon.com/Fun-...

CW II Expansion

I've been looking at the CW II expansion but I would like to know what everyone thinks of it. I have just started playing not too long ago and have not played through one full campaign yet. "There are also three Grand Campaigns spanning a wider timeframe and covering the entire front of the war." Ma...

disobedience, mutiny, desertion

Lets start the topic. How widespread was desertion, mutiny, disobedience. This one might be easier than the hand to hand combat one but maybe not. Here is a few articles I found so far http://www.civilwarhome.com/desertion.htm http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/history-archaeology/desertion...

It seems the main argument (among the online sites I have found) on bayonet lethality is based on the triangle shape of the bayonet making it harder to close a wound and also the chest or abdomen being the main target. The bayonet would also make long winding wounds and would need a lot of force to ...

How much Hand-to-hand combat actually occured?

So the accepted wisdom about combat during the Civil War is that there was not much up close hand-to-hand fighting with bayonets, clubbed muskets, and swords because of the advancement of technology especially the rifled musket. There also seems to be a camp that believes there was quite a bit of ha...

I'm thinking of being able to get those single regiments into a brigade so I only have to manage the brigade. So if I have a one regiment brigade show up on the map I can add the regiment to a different brigade and it would add its stats to that brigade and would show up on the inspection panel as p...

Army organization

I'm a newb at this game and maybe this is already possible or it's impossible or not useful due to technical issues/game play issues, etc. I think it would be nice to be able to add regiments to brigades or break up brigades into regiments. Maybe it doesn't make sense since divisions seem to be what...

I'm no George B. McClellan

So I have started my very first full campaign (the early beginning April one, union side) and I am no McClellan. I need some advice for raising and organizing an effective army. What are some of the things you veteran players do to raise/recruit an army and how do you fit a naval recruitment into th...

I think some of the founding fathers before the constitution was even accepted predicted that the U.S. Constitution the way it was written would lead to a civil war. Read the Antifederalist Papers. They were right about a lot of what they predicted would occur under the Constitution.

Another Noob Question

I have a question regarding units that are in the army tab but not in a division or other stack. Lets say I have a army tab with the commanding general which also has an infantry, cavalry and artillery unit in it (ie. McDowell when he shows up at the beginning of the war). Is there an advantage in c...

Well...I clicked on the flag in the atlas and it sends you to the unit area and brings up the unit card. They all seem to be single regiments with 750 men....but I did notice that their strength seems to go along with the either the Xs or the Is or the dots above the flag.

Nato Symbols in Strategic Atlas-noob question

I have a noob question about the Nato symbols in the atlas. I started full two front campaign (the earlier one) and I am just looking at what units I have to start with in the atlas and I am confused. Why do some units like the 1st Inf regiment in NY have what looks like a symbol for a division? (a ...
