Re: Sons of War (RUS Gold Mod)

A few questions please:

1. How this mod is for solo play? Which faction(s) are best played solo?

2. Are only the campaigns playable with this mod and can the scenarios be played also?

Congratulations on the great mod Zenvaro, and thank you very much.

Re: Favorite AGEOD games

I own: RUS, TEAW (and its expansion), CWII (and expansions), AJE (and expansions), PON (and expansions), TYW and ROP. My favorite is RUS. I enjoy the historical period and how you can play multiple sides. I've played the grand campaign as each faction and most of the scenarios. I've tried a few of t...

Favorite AGEOD games

I'm curious what people like and what they're playing, so:

What AGEOD games do you own, how much have you played each and which are your favorites.

Re: Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and what are you doing these days thread!

Happy New Year to you Pocus,

I just completed a long running RUS grand campaign as the Reds vs the AI. I'm trying out TEAW now, the Serbia scenario.

Great fun!

Re: Russian Civil War bibliography

Nikolai Sukhanov's memoirs "The Russian Revolution 1917: A Personal Record". He was a Social Revolutionary who joined the Mensheviks in 1917 and he provided a very honest account of the revolutionary period. WH Chamberlin's two volumes of the "Russian Revolution" (1935) are stil...

I'd like to enhance the texts but there are 3 different files for one in the database and I don't know what is the good to be corrected. Too I didn't take the time to compare them. I have other projects for others games too, so I work to the easier and those different files don't make it easy. Are ...

Russian civil war is not "black and white", it's "red and white" :) It's rather old fascism vs the new one... The Tcheka (even more evil than the Okhrana, the tsarist police) was an envied example for the Nazi, they copied it. If you so love RUS, then you should go TEAW as there's a dim project abo...

Thanks for the effort and please keep your AAR going! I'm not terribly interested in this time period but I am interested in this game; I suspect though if I do get this game I'll develop an interest in the time period.

Great game -- thanks

Thanks to the developers of this game -- it's a great deal of fun.

One day I'll be good enough to play against humans but for now I'm more than challenged by the AI. In the meantime, I'm learning quite a bit about the RCW. Very interesting!

Thoughts on DLCs and/or new scenarios?

Anybody have any interesting ideas for DLC and new scenarios for RUS? I'm also wondering what ideas have been suggested in the past but haven't been done. I'd also like to hear ideas even if they'd be difficult or near impossible to implement. I personally don't know the game engine or the period re...

I personally only own RUS vanilla and RUS Gold, so I learned about the Ageod engine when I started playing vanilla RUS. I would say after 2-3 PBEM games(at least one of which involves a more seasoned player like I or Baris) you become pretty experienced. The game altogether: is very interesting IMH...

Well?

I've been interested in this title for a while because I'm interested (but no expert) in the subject. So how is it for players out there, especially ones like me who did not have the previous title and haven't played any other games in the system? I'm especially interested in the AI but would also l...

Silly question I know: what's the advantage of buying the game (or any game) through Steam rather than through one of the distributors?

It seems to me that buying through Steam creates a dependency on Steam which I wouldn't have otherwise?

Am I confused here? TIA!

Any word on a Gold edition? I'm interested in the period and never tried the system but I'll pass on picking this one up on sale if a Gold edition is expected within several months.

Also, what would be different about the Gold edition?

TIA
-Jay
