In many cases I found the best help for complicated system was coming from the game's wiki. The hyperlink system gives you the possibility to stay on the surface of things or to go deeper. It's a choice that really makes the difference and present informations in a less monolithic way.

But French upper classes had maybe too much and more money at these times :D . Bismarck himself was surprised that the reparations was paid so soon and easely. I remember i read somewhere that he said something like "if i had know, i would have ask more !" :neener: . Just to show how poor was Franc...

The retreat pathing becomes extremely annoying when the beaten army returns to the province from which the attacker just came. Did they march through them? Actually it did happen : Cato's 2 depleted legions were succesively defeated by Marc Antonius and managed to change hex, everytime it ran away ...

But the 5% MC rule doesn't apply in AJE, does it ? Usually I find the engine quite realistic in its simulation and I certainly am new to the game too, so I can't judge it's a weakness of the engine. Maybe it's just normal that armies aren't easily destroyed. I don't remind that much historical exemp...

Hi, I'd love to know how to annihilate an ennemy army so I don't have to pursue it for month. I was playing the Cesar/Pompée scenario (as Cesar's faction) and the AI has sent two armies to bypass the front and infiltrate behind my lines. In one case I had to defeat successively the same army 3 or 4 ...

Also, reading AAR (even from previous AGEOD games) helped me to understand some game concepts in AJE. But Hister, have you read this AAR in particular : http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?632034-The-Hero-The-Traitor-and-The-Barbarian-an-AJE-PBEM-Beginner-AAR It's one of the most dida...

Ah, ok, I totally misunderstood the title.

Just out of curiosity, by "clicks" I suppose u mean the "clic", "double clic" and "BoA_click" mp3, but what do you call "pops" ?

Yes, I did so, using the tracks I recorded in the "Hannibal : Rome and Carthage'' demo. I recorded the tracks I liked with audacity and re-edited them to fit the exact same lenght than the original one (not sure this is necessary though). Then, I converted them in MP3 and replace theitr name with th...

I cannot even begin to express how much I enjoy this game! Now that I understand the fine points, it really does feel like I am making decisions similar to those faced by the real commanders. Each and Every scenario I have played gives the feel of the specific time - Playing Pyrrhus going against t...
