1.10e is comprehensive, but does not include the quick fix. However, you may wish to read some of the commentary about the quick fix. Not all players liked it. Wasn't the "quick fix" only for the 1812 scenario? But what is the new issue with the fix as I can't find it in this thread? Otherwise, I a...

As I have to reinstall WiA, does this mean that the link to the current 1.10e patch in post #1 is now all-inclusive and it's no longer necessary to apply the patch and then the "quick fix"?

Windows 8 is not like earlier versions. You must insist you are the admin even if you already are. So when you open the game select run as admin. I must be missing something obvious, but why am I running the game when I'm supposed to get into the system file? I can easily do that from the desktop, ...

Hmm. How did you try admin mode? Try admin mode first, then adding code? Windows 8 anything is a mess, but this occasionally works for me. I have a desktop feature in 8.1, but what exactly is "admin mode"? I am the computer's administrator, but when I went into the System game file thru the desktop...

Try this: Use explorer to navigate to \WIA\Settings Open System.opt using Notepad or other simple text editor add to the file: // Replay inoReplay = 1 Save, exit and restart WIA. See if your next turn generates a replay file that works..... Unfortunately under win 8.1 , after I added the code, acce...

Thanks: I found it and added the code, but access was denied for me to save it

BTW, I looked at the old BoA manual and "Ctrl C" will combine 2 similar but weakened units -- I assume that works in WiA as well.

how does replay feature work?

There is a replay feature both on the Main Menu Screen and in the upper right hand corner of the Main Screen's Main Command Panel to play back your last turn, but I can't get this function to work :( Aside from 2:5:4 in the printed manual, there is no other info aside from what it is and what it doe...

Some players have found the 1776 scenario has grown stale because a 'best' British play has emerged for both the 1775 and 1776 Campaigns assuring British victory between two relatively equal players ... Does this suggest that with better command and control the Brits would and should have put down ...

Blue Screen of Death!

On several occaisions while playing BoA campaigns my screen would suddenly go blue and declare a memory dump. After error checking my system, I get a message that states my Del Dimension has recovered from a serious error, but I am able to restart BoA and continue the game where I left off. I use th...

That seems to be working well with another 24-turn scenario; when I' done, the next test will be with a larger and longer scenario, but I'm hopeful.

It's the '76 scenario after the contest at Bunker Hill when Washington's army is in a defensive posture entrenched upon Dorcester Heights just South of Boston without actually laying seige to Boston.

BoA vet needs help w/WiA

Since WiA is even more challenging than BoA, I need some advice with starting the "We hold these truths" and other longer scenarios. Specifically, playing as the Colonials, do I keep Washington and the Continentals dug into Dorcester Heights as was the case historically? As there is no guarantee tha...

Please do ... and good luck  I was able to finish a smaller 24-turn scenario w/o too much trouble, but the longer and larger scenarios require more processing power, causing the engine to have an occaisonal "hiccup" and the turn must be repeated. What are the best option settings to minim...

Defending against the Seige

I recently lost a very large army during a seige by an equally large force after it made only 1 breach in a large city with a fort :( So how can I avoid another replay of what happened to Cornwallis at Yorktown? Is there a posture setting that will avoid surrendering during a seige? I've also tried ...

I think I will have to remove both my original BoA and WiA games and then start re-install the latter under the earlier patch. And if that works, install 1.10e and then the QF. What do you think? I still suspect that BoA is somehow sharing files with WiA; Has that ever happened before? After all, Wi...
