And 200,000 anarcho-syndicalist revolutionaries spring up in a province with a population of 50,000 Armies have always been far too big in Paradox games. I mentally divide each army by 10 just to maintain my sanity, I am afraid this looks to me too much like Paradox saying to AGEOD "Your AGE engine...

AGEOD: Whatever you do, please PLEASE don't use the Paradox combat model of two guys standing around shooting at each other for a month while a screen you can't control flashes faux "frontages" at you. The Paradox combat model is a completely nonsensical mess of mismatched concepts. If a "battle" la...

On the most basic level, I can't as a player precipitate a crisis when I want one. On the next level, they seem to happen randomly, so I can't see them building up: No messages like "Tensions between you and the Austrians are increasing." I also wish the player had more control over crises. The cri...

So how do you launch a synchronized attack on Manassas without Corps commands? Or if you can't, is that the way the system simulates the early war clutziness of the Federals? Can you give a synchronized move order to a division commander, and/or does it do any good? In that case I'm assuming that y...

Not to sound too pessimistic, but my guess is that if you got a roomful of economists to design a game, no one would want to play it. ;)

Guys, I'm 99% sure this is a WinZip problem, not a patch problem. Here's why. I downloaded the patch last night and it installed fine (over a Gamersgate installation). Downloaded it again just now and again it worked fine. But I don't use WinZip. I just use the default extractor that comes with Wind...

I've calmed down, and I appreciate the interest you've both taken in my little problem. I've now patched over 1.01o with 1.02, run the game, and everything seems to work fine. The issue arose only because I have tremendous respect for Pocus, and I tend to take what he says seriously, even when I do...

I just tried 7Zip ... I get a message that it is an unsupported compression method. ??????? Looking again at your screenshot, it looks like you're trying to run the patch from inside the compressed (zipped) folder. You have to extract (unzip) the patch first. Simplest way is to do what I described ...

Queeg, if you're asking whether I bought the game, I did, by direct download from Ageod months ago. I've patched over that version many times, and I'll patch it again with 1.02 if I have to. However, since Pocus recommends patching 1.02 over an "unpatched PON", I'd just like to know where I can fin...

Yes, I have 1.01o, but that's not the unpatched PON recommended by Pocus. Don't you have whatever you installed before you patched it to 1.01o? In other words, you do own the game, right? You know of Occam's razor principle? Same here, the explanation about the delay is the simplest one. Patch was sent to Steam a few days ago. No problem here either patching a Gamersgate installation. I know that doesn't help those who are having problems, but it's not a universal one.

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Gamersgate installation, then applying the patch?
