Good to see that patches will be available here as well as on Paradox. And you are right. I feel much more at home on this forum; and dealing with you guys in general.

I don't understand. I purchased the game directly from AGEOD. But I will download the patch from Paradox?

And does anyone know where I get the Spanish American War? Here?

My life has become so complicated.

How does one navigate to the Musics.ini file? Why would the Sound file name 33 different pieces of music and then play only 13? I'm not trying to be difficult, but I'm not following.

You are losing me (not difficult when it comes to technical matters.) I open the game file and see a folder for sound. I don't even see one for music. This file names the selections and the demo has 33 named selections. You can click a selection and it plays with media player.

Music Selections

There appear to be 19 tunes in the full game, but the demo had 33. Am I misreading the "Sounds" file, or did some selections get left out ?

I want to re-dowload RUS which I purchased early today. Site says I can do so for 7 days. How do I do this? If I go back to the store site I have to pay again. Thanks.

Already ordered Mawdsley and Figes from Barnes & Noble. Both are available and very reasonably priced (as a B & M member, I got both with free shipping for $32 or so.) Again, thanks.

Oh. I never actually thank Calvinus and Philippe for this great scenario. Thank you gentlemen, this is just what the doctor ordered. For the first time ever, I will attempt to use a "Smile."

I am actually of Eyetalian descent. Speaking of which, I really enjoy the Italian selections of the music Calvinus has put in the game.

rattlesnake: I am not questioning your wisdom or anything else. I was just trying to honestly answer your question. I wanted a scenario depicting Barbara Tuchman's take on the 1914 campaign. If you feel that take is ahistorical, that's fine with me. And if I am still misunderstanding you, please don...

While applying the patch, the application stopped. As soon as I entered Task Manager to see what was going on, it started again. The game is patched and appears to run fine. Anyone ?

Calvinus: Bravo, can't wait to try this! rattlesnake: Sorry, I still don't understand your question? Barbara Tuchman's book describes the German offensive to the Marne. She takes the position that the German Offensive didn't defeat the French; the subsequent "Miracle" of the Marne didn't defeat the ...

I have read Barbara Tuchman's The Guns of August about 5 times since it was published in the 60's. It'...

Still Waiting for a "Guns of August" Scenario

Still waiting for my ideal scenario: West front only (although Tannenburg, only, could also be included from the east); August through September, 1914; historical warplans; no diplomacy, production, etc. If the Germans take Paris, or otherwise "break" the French they win. Otherwise they do not win; ...

Like rattlesnake, I don't have a tutorial 4. After Caporetto, the next listing is for a 1918 Scenario. I reinstalled patch 1.08f, but still don't have it.

This may sound really stupid, but how does one determine if he is winning or not ? Is there a way to compare National Will against other countries ? Would love a Guns of August, 1914 Scenario

Western front only, start of war to the Race to the Sea. Would be a perfect way to learn the game without being overwhelmed. Also, I think this is the part of the war that most people are familiar with.
